Here's an update tho. We went there today and he said that this situation happens a lot for people and then he explained the process to my girlfriend for what happens. Something like: she goes to the interview, brings the receipt thing thing from the police and then they'll give her the notice for evidence and we'll have to go back, get the certificate, and send it to the embassy or something. I'll reply again after this actually happens, assuming all goes well with the interview.

Umm that's not how it works. You get the police certificate before the interview. Seems the cop doesn't have a clue, which isn't surprising.

Just this last week. I'm guessing the new year is a big reason for them to go slow. I believe my girlfriend just paid the fee they asked even tho I told her she should try to pay more to "expedited" service.

She's gonna call them and hopefully figure something out. 4 weeks for a certificate tho? She was told 2 on the phone.

The interesting thing about this case is that it suffers from the U S govt doing what we all hoped it would do but knew it wouldn't. But here it is. The case went so fast it overran the system and peoples ability to prepare and plan at a faster pace to keep up.

The police cert will hold up the issuance of the visa but even that wont take long if the right steps are taken. The O Ps fiancée knows things about the Thai police but nothing about obtaining this cert. Most of the stories are twisted versions of events clouded by the persons knowledge of reality.

I just went over this with a Thai policeman I know in that very office a couple of months ago.

They are now charging a small fee for the cert. There are people fueled by these stories that basically stumble thru the process thinking they are in a movie, who think they understand how to pay their way to success.

I think about two weeks is standard. Thai holidays affect timing but these offices continue to function but may be dealing with many more police reports. The key to getting the report is knowing how to push it along. I helped obtain one that took two weeks including sending it from BKK to Issan. It cost 1,500.

My own was sent to me by the BKK police for about the same as Karee paid so I know this can be done as well.

Alright so I believe we will obtain the cert and mail it to the embassy assuming the interview is accepted.

The police office has been pretty busy and I know I told my girlfriend to attempt to give more. We even went back to try and do it again after the date of the interview was confirmed to be so soon. Apparently he just said it happens a lot and we shouldn't worry or something.

On another note. My girlfriend told me some people were there after the interview but also that there were people obtaining the cert before they even sent their I-129f, which seems a bit extreme since I thought u needed your case info to do it.

Another lady had paid a lot of money for a company to do the visa stuff and she was there without any papers or anything and was on the phone for an hour. Think it was like 15,000 baht for the service.

My immigration attorney I met with to give me some advice and check my package even warned me the k-1 could take 8-12 months. It wasn't even 3 months and now we have an interview with the police telling us the cert is almost a month from when we requested it.

Yes and you are incredibly lucky to be in this position. All she needs is to be present at the interview while able to explain she understands the visa will not be issued until the police report is part of the case file.

She could hand carry the report rather than mail it. Just turn it in at the interview.
