It doesn't get more dangerous than an angry black Muslim.

Yes is does, if I get the ghey, it's DEFCON 1 around this piece!

I thought gay people just wanted to be accepted for who they are, just like everyone else? So gay black Muslims are violent?

No, but here apparently they are extremely dangerous...

Homosexuals are people and they have families. Perhaps friendly families.

You must have missed the thread when homosexuality was intricately linked to sexual assault in the military.

I remember that one. That was one of Danno's, wasn't it? devil.gif

But of course. He even went as far as to superimpose a picture of two mens kissing and alluded to it being the same thing as sexual abuse.

We have supermarkets here in the UK who follow the Walmart model and sell electronic goods for prices so low that it's hard to see how the manufacturer could buy the base materials for let alone make a profit on the finished article.

I don't think that's about supply and demand, I think it's a deliberate strategy to flood countries with cheaply made products to undermine our economies.

Which supermarkets are these? Asda?

Could Walmart afford to pay it's workers more? Ofcourse. I'm sure the same case could be made for any successful business. I wish my employer would pay me more too. One thing to consider is that these are retail positions, they don't take any special skills, anyone can do them. Walmart pays above minimum wage to all of it's employees. Why is that such a bad thing? I'm not saying that $10 an hour is right, I'm saying it is what the global market will bear at this time.

The exploited workers you speak of would be in much worse shape if not for stores like Walmart. They would be forced into prostitution, the drug trade and many other illegal activities to make ends meet.

Everyone deserves a living wage. It doesn't matter if you are a skilled worker. If it is a job that is needed, then it is deserving of a living wage. If we were all highly skilled in some area, surely there would be too many of us for the number of those highly skilled jobs. That is the importance of a diversified economy. Many of the people working labor jobs work a heck of a lot harder than their superiors sitting in their offices twiddling their thumbs. They certainly deserve a living wage for the efforts they put into our economy. It is their sweat and tears making the profits for their companies.

If he doesn't like his conditions then he can go and do something about it. Retail has always been a cut throat business. Their profit margins are actually slim. Wal Mart employs many just in this country at their own operations (Such as distribution centers). They also are a direct reason for a lot of employment just from the companies it buys from. I deliver into and out of their distribution centers all over the country. I know so many people that want to work for Wal Mart and/or hope to do so. Why vilify a company that is such an important part of fabric of this country. It is ridiculous to force retailers to pay such high salaries and thus raising my costs.

I have. It is starting job. We did it to make enough for pocket change. It is not the type of job one aspires to if they want to make it in life.

Exactly! The idea that retail workers are somehow not worth a living wage is repulsive. Everyone holding that maxim deserves to fall on hard times and end up working in retail.
