If someone has a full time job, they should be able to support themselves on that full time job. They shouldn't have to turn to the government for food stamps because they have no other choice - even though they work 40+ hours a week.

Those hard working people who are stuck in sh!tholes like Walmart get looked down for their food stamps by people in this very group. Yet they have no other choice.

Walmart gets attention because they are RAKING in the cash. It's disgusting how much money they make and how little actually goes towards the people who operate their stores.

There will ALWAYS be the jobs that people do not want to work. Always. And people will always need to fill those positions. I do not think they should have to sacrifice their quality of life to do so.

If you have a full time job, if you put in your 40+ hours a week, you should not need to crawl to the government so that you can eat.

In an ideal world, everyone works their dream job. But in the real world, people will work where they will get hired because jobs aren't just around the corner for everyone like some people seem to believe. You cannot just go next door and find a good pay with good benefits.

Not only should they be able to support their family but in my opinion they must support their family. From my perspective though that is personal responsibility and to support a family you have to earn a commensurate salary. I think the individual should find a job that pays that salary and not take a $9.00/hr job and then complain that their employer doesn't pay them enough.

Therefore I don't see how it's Wal-Mart's obligation to pay more than what they determine the job is worth.

Maybe the problem is that the opportunities aren't there and I can see why people make the argument that in some ways Wal-Mart is culpable for jobs moving off shore but I don't see it as their fault, I think they just know how to capitalize on a given situation.
