Actually before I got my receipt numbers I called USCIS and they transferred me to a "second" level help request or something like that since it had been more than 10 days and I had not gotten any communication from them. However, the representative told me that it can take up to 21 days to get a receipt and "if you do not hear back from us in 30 days call us so that you can submit another application" - I was super upset about his response but I guess that is very rare that it would take up to a month for you to hear back.

Hopefully you will get your receipts soon!

Am i the only one left without any kind of notification?

I'm new in this forum, does anyone know what are the chances to get rejected on the I-485 for a k-1 visa holder that got married and filed everything on time.

UPDATE on my RFE:

Received my RFE in the mail yesterday. The missing document was the original foreign copy of my birth certificate. I had only included the notarized English translation copy of my birth certificate thinking they wouldn't understand or have use for my foreign language copy. Just sent the RFE letter back with the necessary document. Hopefully they receive it in a day or two so they can continue to process my case.

I was wondering if when you guys check the status online for the i-485 how many steps do you see:

1. Acceptance

2. Initial Review

3. Decision

4. Post-Decision activity

Isn't there supposed to be a testing and interview stage?

March 18th, 2014: Overnight delivery by Fedex
March 19th, 2014: Delivered at Chicago Lockbox.
March 19th, 2014: I-131 & I-765 received & moved to Initial Review.
March 29th, 2014: Fingerprint fee accepted for I-485.
March 31st, 2014: Received NOA1 via email/text (11:45pm)

I am fairly new here. I have been anxious about my process. I sent my package on March 17th and was delivered on March 19th at Chicago lockbox. I haven't heard anything from them yet. I keep calling USCIS customer service. The answer was I have to wait until it reaches 30 days.

Well, I guess I have to wait.

I have a question as well. If I am missing my original birth certificate. Can I mail it in right away? Or should I wait until I get NOA first?

After the acceptance stage it will depend on if your case has all the required documentation or not

If it does then after your biometrics ( background check ) has been completed and in most cases cleared you will jump from acceptance stage to " Testing and Interview " which means you are in line to be scheduled or have already been scheduled.

If your paperwork was missing anything or they need additional evidence then you will send you a Request For Evidence. If this happens it will stop the clock and you will be put in the RFE stage until you have replied to them with what they need.

Filed for aos etc on 28th March. Still waiting on the e-notification etc. Also kinda expecting an RFE as my partner is unemployed at present. (We only arrived here 6 weeks ago, he lived in the UK with me up until then) So we are using our saving to show we are financially stable but I only have one recent bank statement as evidence.

I'd suggest waiting until you get an RFE requesting it, that way you'll know where to mail it to. Best of luck!!

You may want to consider looking for a co-sponsor, just in case they decide the financial proof you submitted is not enough

Thank you. I have been waiting for any kind of notification anxiously. I hope nothing is wrong with my case. My husband and I reviewed it so many times before we sent but still forgot my original birth cert.
