Hello,

Our interview was today in San Antonio, TX. We were approved on the spot. I had previoulsy sent the I130/i1485 together and had gotten an interview (took us 5 months to get it). At that interview we got asked standard questions: how do you know each other?, do you know each other's family? Have you visited your family for the holidays? Who attended your wedding? etc. However, after all of that the IO asked me when the last time I had entered the US was and I told the truth (by then I did not know I needed an AP document to travel bc I used my student visa), then she said she could not approve my GC bc I had left the country without AP. Therefore she only approved the I130 on the spot and I withdrew that I485 application at the interview.

The next day (March 18th) we resubmitted everything with the already approved I130 and that is the timeline you see in my profile. Sooooo, today's interview was easy breezy compared to the previous one. The IO was way nicer and did not really asked anything. He only asked few questions here and there to corroborate what we did, where we lived and if we had met each other's family. Other than that, he stamped my passport with a I551 and said should take 3 weeks to get my GC on the mail.

I am sorry to hear that, but probably you will hear back soon with an answer.

We just got home from our interview today at the El Paso Field Office. We are morally deflated at the moment because we did not get a decision. The IO said she would make the decision later today after she was done with the security check and that we would be notified by mail of the decision.

We were hoping for an answer on the spot but now we keep waiting. She did not ask any questions about our relationship, only our name, any kids, previous marriages, if I was working, DOB, place of birth, the “No” questions on the I-485 and if anyone else lived with us. She also asked what name I would like on the green card (maiden name or married name), and asked a couple of times if we had any issues getting mail at our apt. She said she saw our file and that we had filed enough documentation so she didn't need to see anything else from us. Just said that when the Green Card was approved, we’d get the welcome letter and the actual card at our address.

She kept my visa and I-94, did not take my EAD just a copy. She was really nice but the fact that we didn't get an answer sucks! I’d say the interview took about 15-20 mins.

That's a bummer! Any updates? I'm sure you'll hear soon. The thing I'm learning fast is USCIS doesn't really have a set procedure for anything! All our stories are slightly different and have different outcomes. Be patient (I'm trying to do this myself ?)

Hi, no we didn't have to sign anything, she just said she was going to recommend us for approval and then went on to tell us about ROC. It was all so quick and I felt a bit flummoxed as it didn't seem hard enough if you know what I mean? I've not had any updates or emails. Hopefully I just get the card in the mail next week! I think you'll be fine. Just give it a few more days. ?. I know it's hard to be patient, I'm the worlds most impatient person!!!

No it's still the same. I'm assuming they didn't bother with updating it. I'm happy now I know for sure that I'm getting my card imminently. I'm sure you're going to have equally good news in the next week ?

My timeline is as followed

March 20th Package Received (I130-I485 - I765)

March 25th Mail with receipts

April 1st Bio appt scheduled for April 25th

April 25th Bio done

May 5th Testing and Interview

May 29th EAD approved

Jun 04th EAD delivered. USPC priority mail and tracking number.

Jun 06th EAD received

Jun 09th Applied for SSN

Jun 12th Interview date for July 17th. should be getting a hardcopy in the mail with further instructions ( time and location, which i know it will be in Newark, NJ)

Jun 14th Got my hard copy of my Interview letter. Date: July 17th . In Newark Office at 11:15am.

Jun 16th Got my NJ Driver License.

Praying and Putting together everything we need for the big day!!! Less than a month away!

Hi, any updates? I was thinking about you guys this weekend hoping you get good news today! My card is out for delivery but my online statuses are all the same except I485 which states USPS picked up my card on Friday. I don't think the online system works effectively at all so I wouldn't stress too much. I worked myself into a state about it and it wasn't necessary as things were progressing fine.

Hi All. I called USCIS today about status of my EAD and I was told they sent out something last week Thursday. I asked if it was approved or not but was told when I receive it I will know what to do...it gives me the creeps! Is it against the law to disclose such information over the phone to applicants? Does anyone got an idea about such an instance. Thanks in anticipation.
