We are on a very tight schedule too...but your husband has to stay in the country until he gets his green card...once you apply for adjustment of status...you are technically "out of status" until your green card arrives/approved...if you applied for an AP along with a EAD then once that is approved, your husband can travel outside of the country...but if I were you I would stay put in the US...so there is no letter necessary for him to stay here...he technically has to haha

That is such a relief! I'm sure I read it somewhere, but getting caught up in the process must have made me forget. Thank you so much! We can ease our worries now. We were in the middle of composing contingency plans should August 24 come without us receiving a formal letter in the mail regarding his legal stay. Thank you thank you!

Your NOA1 is the prove that you are legal. No matter which visa your are adjusting from, once your application has been received and processed, you are not out of status anymore until the decision is made. The EAD card is also a prove of legal status.

I was approved on the spot. They didn't ask to see anything. I think we front loaded very effectively! Very quick interview, about 25 minutes at most. Will write more later. Off to celebrate now!

Thanks ? I'm just waiting (impatiently!) to get the emails confirming the approval... Haven't heard from USCIS yet... Hopefully tonight or tomorrow! The IO did say I'd get my card in 2 weeks or less after she took my EAD.

They took my husband first (he's the Petitioner) and asked him a whole bunch of questions based on info on the g325. They asked how and when we met, who proposed, when the wedding was and who came, what he does for a living, and does he have health insurance that covers me. Then they brought me in and asked me the same questions to compare my answers to his I guess. They asked to see our passport and drivers license and my EAD. They asked me all the i485 "no" questions. Then she handed back my passport and license, and said she would keep my EAD as I would be getting my green card in two weeks!!! She explained about ROC and said I have to update my address if I move house. Then she said she's approving my case and congratulations. That was it! She didn't want to see photos or anything else we brought. I stressed for nothing really. If you're a genuine married couple with a good packet submitted then you'll have zero issues!

OK, yesterday I had my interview (840am) and have been stressed since - No news or updates yet.

The interview was really intense and it was done together.

Everything went well until she asked us if we consummated the wedding.

We are of islamic religion and we cannot consummate until a certain time even if the legal court marriage is done.

I told her the truth - I could have easily lied by saying yes (because this question leads to asking about scars on the body, i know the scars too) but we have just not actually consummated yet.

We showed her the engagement/court marriage photos. She told me to name everyone in the pictures (like 30 people in the pics)

The only thing we have together is a bank account, on submission of papers the balance was 25$, so she said that is too low.

Luckily i had new statement with a much larger balance.

I took screenshots for Facebook/Instagram showing 'Married'.

we gave her our Whatsap/Skype communication log for 9 months which was 1576 pages originally (cut it to 25 pages each)

She said, they will notify us by mail with a decision (infact she even mentioned about 2 year later to file ROC - i dont know if that is a requirement to mention or a note to remain positive)

Sounds pretty laid back! Congrats once again, hopefully you'll be getting your welcome letter before this week ends and your green card as soon as next week!

They didnt give any specific reason but in the letter it mentions to bring more evidences

We just got home from our interview today at the El Paso Field Office. We are morally deflated at the moment because we did not get a decision. The IO said she would make the decision later today after she was done with the security check and that we would be notified by mail of the decision.

We were hoping for an answer on the spot but now we keep waiting. She did not ask any questions about our relationship, only our name, any kids, previous marriages, if I was working, DOB, place of birth, the “No” questions on the I-485 and if anyone else lived with us. She also asked what name I would like on the green card (maiden name or married name), and asked a couple of times if we had any issues getting mail at our apt. She said she saw our file and that we had filed enough documentation so she didn't need to see anything else from us. Just said that when the Green Card was approved, we’d get the welcome letter and the actual card at our address.

She kept my visa and I-94, did not take my EAD just a copy. She was really nice but the fact that we didn't get an answer sucks! I’d say the interview took about 15-20 mins.
