Received my EAD card in the mail TODAY!!! WOOOHOOO!!! now for the next mile stone!!!! the interview.. i hope they schedule mine soon!! I've been on "Testing & Interview" since May 5th!! come one, New Jersey Office!!!! come on!!!

Online status finally updated EAD to card production - says it was mailed today. AP is still in initial review, but I'm not too worried. It seems like I'll get a combo card from what I've read on here.

Next step is interview scheduling but I'm expecting that to happen around September since Chicago office is back logged. Oh well, at least the EAD/AP will let me work and travel :)

3/25/14 - Day 00 - I-130, I-485, I-765, & I-131 sent via FedEx

4/22/14 - Day 28 - Biometrics completed @ 10am (Chicago - Broadway location)

6/09/14 - Day 76 - Received EAD/AP combo card in mail.

11/4/14 - Day 224 - Interview in downtown Chicago location

11/5/14 - Day 225 - Notification of GC approval!

3/12/14: NOA text and e-mail

3/15/14: NOA hard copy for both

3/24/14: Biometrics for 4/10/14

3/27/14: Early walk-in successful

4/1/14: Online status changes to testing and interview, ready for schedule

5/16/14: Email and text about interview date on June 19.

6/2/14: EAD production ordered

6/06/2014: EAD in hands

I need some advice from VJers..
I am a student (F1).

I completed Bachelors and currently doing masters

I filed for Family based Green Card.

I did the interview last week and waiting for an approval.
I have already received the EAD (i765 - Work permit for 1 year).
As I wait for the Green Card, can I terminate my F1 status and work without an problems?
I want to rest from studying for a little while

Going to SSA to apply for a SSN today. I'm just a lil surprised that my case changed to "Testing and Interview" on May 5th and no interview date yet!! My office is Newark and i know ppl who filed in Feb and had their interviews in May... I wonder whats going on!

We are in a similar timeline as you. We are also waiting for the interview date since our status changed on May 7th. I took a look at the processing time for Newark, and the status says that the are working on cases from 10/27/13 as of 4/30/14. So, that may explain the delay. Mine says that they are working on cases on 12/4/13 as of 4/30/14.

Also, we should receive the EAD card today, so we will go to the SSA office tomorrow for SSN. Let me know how it goes for you. I hear that sometimes the SSA needs time (2-4 weeks?) to verify with DHS on the status before they can work on your application.

Hey Skate. I went today. no problem. they said i should get it in within 2 weeks. yeah i know some ppl have to wait up to 4 weeks bury that wasn't my case. no news about the interview date, tho.

It would show the interview date online if they had already schedule you for one.It just doesn't say what time or where.

March 28th, 2014: Fingerprint fee accepted for I-485, case being processed at NBC. (Day 10)

March 30th, 2014: Received NOA1 via email/text @ 11:21pm. (Day 12)

April 2nd, 2014: Received NOA1 hard copies in the mail for I-130, I-485 & I-765. (Day 15)

Good to hear that you didn't encounter any issues with the SSN. We just received our EAD/AP combo card today. :) We will go to the SSA office tomorrow.

From what I have read, sometimes they will look at the case but not really change or update anything. In my case, it only showed whenever they changed the status.

Once they set up an appt, they should email/text you saying there was a change and online it will say something like... "On X month and day we mailed you a notice for your interview on xx/xx/xxxx"

Looks like most of us have our EAD's now, good luck to those of you still waiting on an interview date.

My interview is in 6 days, the time is flying!!!! I'm both terrified and relaxed ? I have all our paperwork sorted (thanks Erica and Lily for the invaluable organizational tips!) and I'm finishing our wedding photo album and have a few other photos too. Fingers crossed it'll be a nice smooth experience and I'll have champagne in hand by 2pm!

17 March packet mailed (day 0)

21 March Priority Date (day 4)

27 March text/email NOAs received (day 10)

31 March hard copy NOAs received (day 14)

7 April Biometrics letter received for appt on April 28 (day 21)

11 April successful biometrics walk in (day 25)

29 April Testing and Interview ? (day 43)

8 May Date on NOA of interview schedule (day 52)

12 May received hard copy NOA of interview scheduled 16 June! (day 56) :dancing:

27 May email received stating EAD card is in production and my AP has been approved (day 71)
