Hello VJ!

I am confused on this form. I will be using my mom as a joint sponsor so I will fill out my own i134 and my mom will fill out one too. However, my dad and mom filed taxes jointly. Does this mean that I need my dad to fill out an additional form?

Your mom needs to meet the requirement for her own household size plus the intending immigrant, so if no other dependents, then that would be 3: herself, husband and the foreign fiance(e). She will list her current individual income, provide most recent joint tax transcript and copy of her W-2 to show her individual income. Also a letter from employer and/or recent pay stubs to prove her current income amount. Your dad does not need to fill out another I-134, just you and your co-sponsor.

If your parents do not claim you as a dependent on their taxes, then you are not included in their household count. If you have no other dependents, then yes, just 2 for you and your fiance(e).
