I read this girl's posts, and I haven't been able to stop thinking about it since doing so.

I haven't found her posts yet, but I did sign up for the newsgroup.

I don't know how I feel about it, to be honest.

Does anyone who feels desperate enough to end it all, look for a support group like this? Is it one last cry for help without them realizing it?

On the one hand, yes, I do support complete freedom for this sort of thing. Let's face it, it's the other end of the spectrum when it comes to freedom of speech.

On the other hand, what happens to that one person out there who is still having doubts about whether or not to go ahead with it and who stumbles upon this newsgroup and gets heckled by a person telling them to get it over with, already? That one person who could still be alive today and getting help and perhaps find inner peace and happiness, somehow.

It's hard.

I don't know.

All I know is, from personal experience. Someone who has truly made up their mind about suicide... They don't talk about it. They don't make lousy attempts at it, they don't leave emo notes. They do it. Next thing you know, you're at a memorial for 'em.

Yeah, some of it was pretty gruesome.

Leaving a huge mess behind and making your loved ones ID your corpse afterwards, is just one last big UP YOURS, innit?

I didn't notice the name of the forum..(was it there? could always Google it I guess...) but I don't think I could actually go look at in anyway... Was heartbreaking just reading the article that was posted. M.
