Hello,

My wife and I mailed her I-751 package last week and it hasn't showed up yet. I am getting a little nervous because I can't decipher what these USPS codes mean, particularly the "available for pickup" status. Does this mean it is being held at the post office, or delivery was attempted and no one was there? I can't even tell if delivery was ever attempted or not. It seems like it has been circulating through California post offices since Saturday.

When I mailed it on 4 March, the original date USPS.com was showing for delivery was 7 March. Since then, it has arrived at the Laguna Niguel post office, but from there it just appears to go back and forth.

Did I screw up by sending certified mail to a PO box where there may not be someone to sign for it?

Will USPS continue to attempt delivery? If so, until when?

I am not at the panic point yet but I hope the package is not stuck somewhere in stasis going back and forth to a PO box and the post office and no human will ever be able to take receipt of it. If things go on like this through the end of this week, what is the suggested way forward?

I have heard NOT to stop payment on the check and send the package again. I have seen older threads where people had the same problem and others recommending calling USCIS or the post office if this goes on and it gets down to the wire. Any help, particularly with deciphering what the USPS statuses actually mean, would be helpful.

You can send certified mail to a PO box. You didn't do anything wrong there.

My tracking looked like yours too .. when it first arrived it says "available for pick up".

Don't think there are any delivery attempts after this.

Pretty sure it just means it's sitting there waiting for USCIS to pick up.

Once USCIS picks it up it will show "Delivery" as the final status.

Looks like yours just went to the "available for pick up" status today.

They'll probably pick it up tomorrow.

I wouldn't worry yet.
