I suggest you print that on a T-Shirt and wear it around town...frequently.

Okay..that was it..I just couldn't pass it ...but now I'm out.

Do you have shares in Walmart or something? You seem very devoted to the cause, no one must criticise walmart or its customers. Hilarious.

Traveled the world and lived and worked in China for six years. Gives you a better respect for those who have a sense of entitlement and lack respect for clean air, law enforcement, sanitation, and rule of law.

Then you have no excuse for your silly remarks, hey ho.

Walmart does not create jobs. Actually, it kills them.

Heres why: first, at the local level, all Walmart does is put mom-and-pop stores out of business. The overwhelming body of evidence, including the most rigorous peer-reviewed studies, suggest that when Walmart enters a community, the result is a net loss of jobs, or at best, that its a wash. In fact, the biggest, best scholarly study about the impact of Walmart on local employment was done by an economist at University of California at Irvine named David Neumark, who is not exactly a wild-eyed liberal. Hes the kind of economist, actually, who writes anti-minimum wage op-eds for the Wall Street Journal. ...

Bottom line is that Walmart is a business. They answer to their customers and shareholders (and probably the government in some cases) I hate to break it you Steven, but the days of unions, mom and pop shops, horse drawn ice delivery etc. are over. They aint coming back. This need to want to go back to the way things are with people making $35 an hour for screwing on the same bolt over and over all day seem like a refusal to live in the present. It's global economy now. Either adapt to it, or get left behind.

I personally can't stand shopping there because I don't like being around lowlifes. I'm stuck up like that.

I hate walmart, it's a grotty store that sells inferior products. If your definition of success is descending to the lowest common denominator in just about everything, then you will admire wamart. Personally, I would be perfectly happy if the map reversed the other way and not one walmart existed.

That's very uppity of you. There are millions of people who cannot afford to shop elsewhere and depend upon shopping at Walmart to clothe their children and feed their families.

That's just rubbish. There are lots of places that provide good products at reasonable prices. Sorry, but Walmart isn't the saviour of the poor, far from it.

I don't like Walmart and I try not to give them my money - though I have had to go there from time to time like it's late at night and I need something and no other stores are open.

When Walmart comes to town they suppress local economies by eliminating a key market principle of capitalism, competition. Small businesses, lets say TV shops, can't compete because Walmart has a direct link to the source of cheap TVs manufactured in China. American TV manufacturers are non existent thanks to the influx of cheap knockoffs from China. I remember we used to have Zenith when I was growing up. Zenith was brought up by S.Korean LG. You want to buy a TV at an affordable price you pretty much have no choice but to go to Walmart.

A lot of you just want to sling your political rhetoric around, but I don't see how it's good for the consumer in the end to get rid of competition.

Walmart is just not good for America. They pay poverty wages and the rest of the American people subsidize those workers who collect welfare because the company won't pay livable wages. That's not capitalism my friends.

I think it's funny you think that simply pointing out that Walmart sells trashy products is 'uppity'. I wonder what I'll be accused of next?

I just want to know why Wal-Mart gets so much flak for selling Chinese products when every other place sells the same stuff, including mom and pop.

Firstly, it's a known fact that small business currently contributes more than 70% to the US economy. As soon as government puts their hands on business, we find ourselves in a jimmy carter job market----like right now.

When you consider how much good Wal-Mart has done for not only the USA, but especially China it is overwhelming. They have created jobs and a better life for people in rural areas where mom-and-pop could not.

You're confused. Walmart doesn't contribute 70% to the US economy, it is 70% of the economy which contributes to Walmart's bottom line.

Not rubbish at all. Walmart meets a need that many people have. Fortunately you are above that and don't shop there.

Yes, thanks to the rights attack on American labor, workers everywhere are now at the mercy of international capitalism, and the days of wealthy American middle class is now numbered. I am so happy, that American workers need worry no more about being over paid for do their jobs, Instead, workers can no look forward to, low pay, long hours, few vacation days off and being cast aside like yesterday's trash, the moment they outlive their usefulness to their corporate masters.

If walmart did not fill a need they would be out of business .... Looks like not too many people are shopping at penny's ... How are they doing.
