Thank You. We haven't heard anything yet. After our interview our lawyer told us the IO we had is new. He had never seen him in that office before. So my guess is a supervisor has to review our file first. I've read a lot of people don't get their approvals for 30 to 60 days which is probably the most common. However, many do get on the spot approvals. Unfortunately we weren't one of those couples.

We are just being positive and playing the waiting game :-). I'll be back once we get an answer.....hopefully soon.

Thanks. Nothing yet. Still waiting. I'm positive everything will be fine :-).

Hi River,

Sorry to hear how stressful your interview was I hope it works out for the best and I'm sure it will. I have to say I agree with Harper and Aussie as I had my interview today and read up a lot on interviewing yesterday. I think the whole point is to piss you off and rile you. I read somewhere a great piece of advice that says 'prepare as if you are going to court to fight a case and prepare to be cross examined'. I think we can all agree after watching movies that cross examination is hard and rude. Your IO sounds like a douche but bc of high fraud and obviously your husband being egyptian maybe he has to be that way. I also rad yesterday to not take any of it personal as it is their job to be tough. SO don't take to heart its obvious that your in a bonafide marriage and I am sure that loads of cases were so much worse then yours and probably even fraudulent and still got thru. I'm Australian and my hub is USC and we were hoping for an approval today and didn't get it and even though we laughed with our IO it was still tough and we are disappointed that we have to wait, so if they were tough on us they will definitely be tough on you but I think it had to to be that way so stay positive as It prob went the way its supposed to. I hope I make sense. Write back and lets us know the outcome!

Honestly, I'm not thinking about that day any longer. My husband told me to put it out of my mind and I did. Saying his attitude was the way it was because he's from Egypt as many have stated is mere speculation. I sensed the guy was on a power trip....nothing more nothing less. Our case wasn't any different from couples who got on the spot approvals. The situation it is what it is. There's no consistency when it comes to USCIS. Anyway, there was some good that came out of it. My husband and I are closer than we've ever been. Our love for each other has grown by leaps and bounds. It's that love that comfort us and bring us peace (L) A lot of couples are in our shoes having to wait for their approval. Many couples like yourself whose spouse isn't from Egypt or any North African/Middle Eastern Country are having to wait. I've read about couples who got on the spot approvals but had to wait 2 to 3 months before anything came in the mail. Again, there is no consistency. My husband and I are confident we'll eventually get the greencard in the mail :)

Good Luck to the both of us!!

what dont you understand about the fact that you case is very different than most AOS cases? Most AOS from a k1, not a b2. he entered on a visitor visa from a country in political unrest and all of a sudden decided to marry, not only marry but have a christian ceremony. something a practicing Muslim would never, ever do. The others you refer to who get approvals "on the spot" have gone through consular processing first, the part your husband decided to skip...

"The others you refer to who get approvals "on the spot" have gone through consular processing first" There must be dozens of cases of couples adjusting successfully from a B2! It's obvious you have a problem with it....but....well.....I don't care!

"the part your husband decided to skip..." First of all sweetie you don't know me, you don't know my husband, you DON'T know our relationship, and You DON'T know how we came to be. So your opinion is pretty much irrelevant!

"not only marry but have a christian ceremony. something a practicing Muslim would never, ever do" Again you DON'T know my husband! You weren't there when we talked marriage, and You DON'T know all the details!

"what dont you understand about the fact that you case is very different than most AOS cases?" What don't you understand when I say I'm NOT thinking about that day any longer and have moved on??

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”
