I've read this article before. Thanks for posting, maybe it will be informative to someone who hasn't seen it yet.

I'm done posting in this forum for now. I can't let this situation take over my mind and drive me crazy. All I can really do at this point is sit back and wait for a response....hopefully a good one!

I posted to simply share my experience for others who may have a similar case to mine. I'm not looking for anyone's pity or sorrow. I certainly appreciate those who have supported me. Whenever someone brings a different perspective, I counteract and bring a different perspective also so that whoever read this post can get something out of it. If someone took me wrong than I apologize to them. After reading many posts on VJ it seems some people post simply to freighten the OP....that aspect I have found disheartening. I did question whether or not I should post my experience but decided to do it anyway because reading about other's experience helped me. I guess you can say it was my way of giving back.

I am confident Love will see me and my husband through this challenge. It has stregthened and brought us even closer together.

I understand what you are saying and I know sharing your perspective is important for others and their journey! To me, i am not saying for everyone, it just seemed that when you responded to others comments that you were very defensive. This isn't an easy journey for anyone, and what I have learned thru everything I have read on VJ is that everyone's perspective, opinion, or experience is relevant to someone. So thank you for sharing your experience, and I really believe that no one had any ill intentions, they just, like you, were sharing their part. I do believe that some of things posted that you believe are meant to "frighten" people are things that people should at least keep in mind. The reality is that there have been so many people before us that have committed visa fraud and that is why things are set in place the way they are. I am sure it still goes on, and unfortunately at times to devastated victims. But that doesn't mean that someone is suggesting that yours is also. Everyone has their own story, and for me I have been separated from my husband since nine days after our wedding! That has been difficult for both of us but that is the nature of our situation and has also strengthened our relationship! Lucky for you that you have your husband with you to be a comfort for each other while you go thru this step. I just felt I needed to say something because I could understand where others were coming from. I too plan to share all of my experiences as we go along and hope there is someone that can be helped by my experience as I am sure is what you intended, as well as most people that feel inclined to post comments! :)

Perhaps I was defensive at times. The stress of yesterday's ordeal left me mentally and emotionally drained and I am still feeling the affects of it. Your point is well taken and I appreciate you posting to my thread :-). I wish the both of us the best of luck in this journey!

I think you are fine, especially since the I-94 was taken. Please post the good news as soon you hear it.

Thanks! Will do!

To the op, the two posts below are spot on. Harpa makes some excellent observations which I hi-lited in bold.

Sounds like the IO was just trying to catch you off guard, if you get all flustered then chances are any coaching that had been done prior would escape your mind so he was likely purposefully pushing buttons, if you got through that without revealing anything that would be detrimental to your case then I would think of it as a successful interview.

River, Aussie_jason makes a lot of good points.

I am sorry that your interview went poorly, but your case has a number of red flags.

No one here is trying to attack you, but they are trying to get you to understand USCIS better, because your understanding of them is rather poor. And this lack of understanding is harming your case and making life more difficult for you.

It is rather bizarre to me that you think that a lot of joint accounts makes it obvious your case is bona fide. In fact, the opposite may be true. There is such a thing as too much evidence, if the evidence doesn't make sense or seems hasty.

How you were treated, that was because they suspected your marriage of fraud. That is exactly why they treated you like that. You think the nature of your relationship was not in question, and I assure you it was. That was exactly what it was about, and only about that.

Why did you have a christian wedding if your fiance is Muslim? DId he convert? He didn't seem to have a good answer for why he did that.

How did you go to Egypt if your husband was on a tourist visa? You must have gone before he came here. When was that and were you dating then? I don't remember all the details of your case, sorry. I just remember you put his name wrong on the form.

If you don't want to understand them better and just want to complain, okay. Best of luck to you.

Thank you for your reply, and I also think you guys are good to go! So try not to stress any longer and just think that Karma will take care of that guy, that should give you a good laugh! ;)

The OP just wants to be with her significant other like all of us do. I feel that some of you are being too harsh on her. it's not her fault that her husband is from egypt and that they are different religions and that they got married while he was visiting on a B-2 visa. IF he was already a USC she wouldn't have to prove herself to immigration or to any of us. Most of us are in bi-national if not from different religious backgrounds as our SO's. We need to retract the claws a little bit and celebrate love. I hope everything goes well!

Don't think anyone's criticizing her for that. Simply, that not all nationalities are treated the same in terms of immigration and so on, and that's why she got the harder interview.

Would not a Christian wedding help with a Asylum claim if needed?

She hasn't been active since March 12th, you could try messaging her or quoting one of her posts so it hits her email.

Thank You. We haven't heard anything yet. After our interview our lawyer told us the IO we had is new. He had never seen him in that office before. So my guess is a supervisor has to review our file first. I've read a lot of people don't get their approvals for 30 to 60 days which is probably the most common. However, many do get on the spot approvals. Unfortunately we weren't one of those couples.

We are just being positive and playing the waiting game :-). I'll be back once we get an answer.....hopefully soon.

Thanks!

Just wanted to check in to see if you had any good news! Wishing you the best!

Thanks. Nothing yet. Still waiting. I'm positive everything will be fine :-).
