Hello first I would like to say thanks to everyone on VJ thats been very helpful along this journey for it hasn't been easy for us. My questions are are followed:

We emailed our Ds 230 to the Kingston embassy on February 7 2014 and requested for an interview date. On Feb 10 they sent a reply email stating they received it and we should be receiving a interview date. My questions are

1. Do they schedule the interview or do we?

2. How long do it usually take to receive a date

3. How do they send it? Email or postal

4. When do we pay the 240.00 is it before or interview day?

CEAC created January 29 and updated January 30. Status say "ISSUED" Is this normal?

Sorry for all the questions...

Thanks in advance for all your feed back will be greatly appreciated.

From past experience they e-mailed and regular mail the documents....the embassy is the one that maked your interview date...for the fee you pay it on the day of your interview but before the interview is conducted...as for what you said the ceac site says issued...thats strange because your visa cannot be issued and you havent had your interview yet...double check the number you entered to make sure you entered the correct one...good luck

they sent me an email & him a hard copy to his po address. with our interview date, then he scheduled his medical....medical can cost anywhere from 110.oo - 300.oo us dollars depending on shots needed. it took approx. 1 week... he should have filled out the online ds 160. and email the confirmation page along with his biometric page of his passport to the embassy. u pay the 240.00 at the interview. he also must register for delivery of his passport/visa at dhl online. also email embassy a copy of confirmation. .

Wow thank God we have done most of that. We already did the Ds 160 and sent that in butter we didnt send in the passport page. We already have money put to the side for his medical and the 240.00 fee. We did not register yet so I guess we can go ahead and do that tomorrow. We are just waiting for our interview date. Its been 4 weeks already we have been waiting. So your saying we both should get notified of his interview date? I hope it wont be to long. Thanks for such great details. Now I can sleep better tonight. Lol

I would email again to ask why you guys haven't received anything yet. I received an email with his interview date within a few days (but it was dated the day after I emailed the DS230) and he never received anything via snail mail. The CSC site gives info interview too once you're registered on it. At the very least I would email or call the embassy asap to get some direct file info that's the only way you can be sure regarding your case.

Good luck!

Thanks for the info. We will send an email them today. Also once we sign up with the csc will that possibly show us if we have been given a date as of yet. Thanks all this info is very helpful.

Yes it should. I truthfully never checked it before my fiance's original interview but I definitely seen his follow-up interview date there (until it passed) but there's a section that states whether there is an interview scheduled. Just a fyi... I email Kingston IV, NIV, IV appt, NIV appt email addresses most times simultaneously because I'm not always sure which is handling what at which times, but they will respond with whom should be addressed. Sometimes you may get a little added info, but if they don't handle it in their dept you may just get a form letter type email saying they don't handle it. That helps narrow things down.

Thickums I had checked your timeline last week and I was surprised yours wasn't further because we were right there tiger at one point. We're waiting for the visa to be issued at this time. I hope you get some answers soon.

Yes I agree we should already have a date. We did everything they told us to do. The only problem was that we did Ds 160 since the site said it replaces all the other forms. Then at the last minute we received a email that we must still fill out the Ds 230 and email the document back to them. Well that was in February and we emailed it back right away. We also received an email saying they received it and we should be receiving an interview date but still none as of yet. Thats why I was wondering how long it takes to get an interview date. It already been 4 weeks we been waiting.
