I-134 Quick questions

Hello all (:

I am leaving to be out of the country next week until the end of April, and I am trying to get things that I need to be completed before then. I was wondering if you guys could help me with this:

On I-134, I am having my step-father as our co-sponsor. He makes more that 125% for a household of 5. My brother and I filed our own taxes, while my mother and my step-father did their joint taxes...

1. So on the question about how many dependents he has, I would answer "none", correct? Because eventhough we all live in the same household, we filed our taxes separately as independents.

2. Does he need to include his assets on stocks/bonds/morgage/life insurance? I searched around the internet for a bit and I've read on posts a few years back that if the co-sponsor meets the 125% poverty guideline, then we do not need to include the extra assets. So does that still apply now? My step-father does own the house we are currently living in.

3. If we order the tax transcripts from IRS, do we still need official statements from our employers?

BTW, I did take some time off from vacation last year, and so I did not meet the 125% poverty guideline, but I do meet the 100%. I thought I'd play it safe by having a co-sponsor in case they were wondering if I'd be able to take care of my fiance financially.

Thank you so much guys for any help (:

He would list his wife there. She will be the only one besides the foreign fiance(e) that will be counted in his household size.

If he meets the requirement with income alone, then he can leave the whole assets sections blank. They are not required to be listed.

Yes, you need the most recent tax transcript, and a letter from employer and/or most recent pay stubs to prove current income. Unless he is self-employed, then just provide 2 or 3 years worth of his most recent tax transcripts.

Thank you so much for the response.

So to clarify, on question 8 where it asks "The following persons are dependent upon me for support:" .... he puts his wife (my mother) ??? They filed their tax return together, but both work and make income.

Also...for the pay stubs...is it ok to print those online since my employer doesn't do paper stubs anymore with direct deposits.

He does not have to list his wife there. They will see it is joint tax filing and his wife will be included in the household anyway.

Yes, you can print them off that way.
