What do you think is she approved or not? She went to the interview K1/K2. She answered all questions no problems there. When the consul finished he told her to go to the last window and wait there. So she went there and the person told her she can go home now (Mindinao). She asked him if approved he said "Ma'am you can go home wait for your passport to deliver there". So they did not give it back to her at the end of interview and they did not ever say anything about needing more proof. But when she got back to hotel she contacted me crying because she feels she didn't get approved because they don't tell her. I personally think she is approved since they kept the passport. But some of you in no alot more about this than us so please tell me what you think. Oh, the person in the window told her she could check her status tomorrow on the website, but I think that is backlogged. Also, if approved how long will it take her to get the visa living as far away from Manila as she does? Thanks!

She should be okay. Just wait for the passport to be delivered. You may also check the status online: https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx

Should be updated in the next couple of days. Congratulations!

Congrats. She is approved. Took ours ten days--Interview 4 FEB ready for pick up 14 FEB (Happy V day). A lady that interviewed with us it took almost 21 days to deliver to her province. The status check best I can remember never said approved only processing/ready for pick up/delivered (something like that). If they kept the passport APPROVED. The last window should have given her a piece of paper that said delivery address or pick up address based on what you selected on the DS-160.

If they did not tell her directly, and they kept her passport, than that is the sign that she passed. Now they will process her visa and attach it to her passport and return it to her via 2go. It can typically take anywhere from 6-8 business days to receive your passport. You can check your status here: https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx

Check my signature. I have the CEAC updates included on it. Hope it helps :-)

Just use your MNL# entered like this MNLxxxxxxxxxx using your actual number.

Check for your passport delivery here with 2go; just enter the UID code found in your interview appointment letter or MNL# or Passport Number.

They rarely tell a person they are approved, as long as the didn't ask for more documents or such.... she is.... congrats!! dancin5hr.gif

The embassy states it can take 7-10 days (business) after ISSUANCE (this is not the interview) for the visa to be delivered. Check tracking every day, soon you will see things progress.

As long as her passport was taken during the day of her interview & no 221G was given, asking for more documents, she should be good!

It's not common to be told "approved", and normally, the last window won't be really in the right position to answer. For some reason, they just have developed this arrogant way of saying, "Just wait for us to contact you" or "Wait for it to be delivered". Personally, that kind of behavior should be changed as it always gives a negative psych effect to the visa applicant, IMO. Take comfort in that thought.

In the mean time, just relax and watch for your CEAC status updates, as this always gets "updated" every time they touch your case in their system. :)

Not so much being arrogant as it hasn't been "approved" yet, the CO at the interview didn't have any issues but the application is reviewed again before final approval and ISSUED. Most of the time there are no issues and this last process goes very quickly, but as the saying goes - it ain't over until the fat lady sings.

I was referring to the Filipino attendants at the last windows, Hank. wink.png You're right, and as I said, they are NOT in the position to answer. But giving a cold-sounding "Wait for us to contact you", etc is not a very good experience to visa applicants, I must say.

The attendant at the last window for the most part hands out 221g document request forms and verifies delivery instructions, for sure not their place to say if approved or not. I am sure having hundreds day in and day out ask that question "am I approved?" takes it toll ... ;)

We never heard approved from the CO and from the last window they simple verified delivery.... but we left with huge smiles just the same.
