Do I need to let them know my fiance is going with me?

All he needs to do is bring his US passport with him so he can go inside the embassy and be at the interview with you. That's all.

It's been 3-1/2 years since we were there but I, the USC fiancé (at the time), just accompanied my now-wife to the embassy and showed my U.S. passport. No problems getting in...
