Hi VJ members,

I want to send out the AOS packages including I-485, I-765, I-131 for my fiancee on this Thursday ( Because we will marry and get the marriage certificate on the same day). We went to SSA office this morning to apply SS and they told us that we are all set. However, it will take up to 4 weeks for USCIS to clear the custom and they will send out the social security number within 2 weeks.

Now, I have few questions to ask:

1) Does she need social security to apply for I-485, I-765, and I-131? As far as I know, she does not need it because the form says " If any", which does not really require to have it at this stage. Will she have any problem or receive RFE for it ( If anyone has went to the same route as me, then please give me an advice).

2) Her birth certificate is Vietnamese and I have already translated by myself with the USCIS's guideline . Do I need an authority office who can translate and seal it?

3) How do you put all 3 forms in the same big envelope? I am thinking to put each form in the small envelope and then putting them in a big envelope? It is ok to do that?

3) In term of her vaccination record, I have no idea what is I-693 thing. I have her vaccination document worksheet that indicades for use with DS-2053 or DS-2054. I also have her yellow immunization record. Anybody knows which one I need to submit?

Thanks

1. SSN not needed

2. You only need to attach a statement that certifies you are fluent in both languages.

3. Just slide them in the envelope. I would keep each application separate, for example, first your I-485 papers, then your I-765 papers, then your I-131 papers. Keep each set of papers together by a large paperclip.

4. If you have a completed DS-3025, you can just submit that. Any other immunization records you cannot send as they will not be accepted. If your DS-3025 is not complete, you will need to see a civil surgeon and transcribe all your vaccinations onto the I-693 form.

Thank you for your reply.

For Social Security Number section, Do I write down None or N/A?

Her DS-3025 has many checks on not age appropriate and one of them in insufficient time interval (Td shot ). There are two checks on the results section. The first one is applicant may be eligible for blanket waiver ...., and the second one on vaccine history complete for each vaccine, all requirements met.

She does not have to do I-693 , right?

If she had the all required vaccinations at the time of the K-1 exam and the DS-3025 is filled out properly(sounds like it is), then she should not need the I-693.
