Hi, everyone. This is our first post, so I apologize if this is a dumb question.

But we haven't been able to get through the bureaucratic maze to get an answer:

How, when and by whom are we notified of our interview date?

We are living in China. USCIS approved our I-129f petition Feb. 12, but we have not heard anything from anyone since then.

Who gives us our interview date? USCIS? National Visa Center? Consulate in Guangzhou?

I have not been able to get answers from any of them.

One complication is that we moved since submitting our petition to USCIS, so no one has a record of our current address. We worry that the officials (of whatever agency) will send the notice to the wrong address. Does the agency (whatever agency) notify us by email or just snail mail?

Any help would be welcome. Thanks.

Consulate does. Your fiance should be waiting for her/his package sent to the address which you put down in the petition.

Also, you may contact the consulate via email and ask them this question, just remember to put down your case #.

After the approval notice you - the petitioner - should also expect receiving a notice from NVC, regarding the update on your case after it is sent to the consulate.

Thanks for your help. Can you tell me:

Is the notice from NVC sent to the address we gave in China (which has changed) or to the address we gave in the U.S.? Is it sent by snail mail, email or both?

I have had no luck emailing the Immigrant Visa Unit at the consulate because they require us to submit via a form that asks our GUZ, GZO case number, which no one has given us yet. We have our SRC case number, but that doesn't count apparently. And anything they snail mail to us will go to the wrong address

If they would email us, we would be fine. Do they do that?

Not sure about China specifically, but everything is usually done by snail mail.

Why haven't you sent USCIS a change of address notification?

The USCIS online change of address form will not accept a foreign address. And every time I call the USCIS 800 number, they tell me to call between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. No mater when I (Skype) call, I get the same messge. Do you know what time zone these hours refer to?

you can get the consular casefile # by calling into NVC, giving over the receipt #, and then get the GUZ #.

Once you have the GUZ #, study at CEAC website - when status changes to 'administrative processing',

that's the sign the consulate has the casefile, logged the casefile and has opened the casefile.

Once the casefile is opened by GUZ IV,

you and her can then set up an account at

ustraveldocs.com/cn

and handle the rest there, paying at a CITIC bank, then scheduling the interview.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.
