How about remembering where you were when you found out that Elvis had died? My sister's birthday was the day before, and she had gotten a new bicycle. Being the dutiful older sister, I took it upon myself to try it out for her, LOL. She came flying out the front door, and ran screaming across the yard, "Elvis is dead, Elvis is dead, Elvis is dead." I went in to find my mother (huge Elvis fan) folding laundry. She was ghostly white and saying, "It's just not true. He can't be dead. I have tickets next month!"
