I was born 1961... so I guess technically I was a 70's kid... at least the most infleuential part of my childhood..

What about watching Creature Feature for hours on saturday..

I owned a bicycle with a banana seat and a plastic basket with flowers on it. Adding on the card on the spokes along withthe straws..

You learned to skate with actual skates (not roller blades) that had metal wheels.along with the skate key.. only the rich kids had the indoor skates/shoes.. haha..

Lived in Sandiego.. never had rubber boots for rainy days and Moon boots for snowy days BUT-- Had EARTH SHOES ... and of course. wallabees. .

Fell in love with teh guys from EMERGENCY 51... squad 51.. Rampart.. and ohhh that Johnny Gage.. Randolph Mantooth

Wore Ditto's pants.. never worried of camel toes..

Mastered the "Klick-Klacks" and smacked yourself in the face more than once (or constantly had bruises on your arms!) Had my collection in the power lines..

Had the Brady bunch shag in 4th grade.. but .. had the Hamill cut 8/9th grade.. oh yeahhh

Your Holly Hobbie sleeping bag was your most prized possession along with my holly hobbie lunch box and watch

You wore a poncho, gauchos, and knickers.

You had the Donnie and Marie dolls with those pink and purple satiny shredded outfits, or the sunshine family

danced for hours with the broom as microphone.. and 5 siblings.. immitating the sunshine family.... .. Everybody's happy.. sunshine day... whoo hoo

Ha a pair of Doctor Scholl's sandals ( the ones with hard sole & the buckle). How about CANDIES...

You wanted to be Laura Ingalls Wilder really bad; you wore that Little House on the Prairie-inspired plaid, ruffle shirt with the high neck in at least one school picture; and you despised Nellie Olson!

You wanted your first kiss to be at a roller rink!

Your hairstyle was described as having "wings" or "feathers" and you kept it "pretty" with the comb you kept in your back pocket. When you walked, the "wings" flapped up and down, looked like you were gonna "take off"

You know who Strawberry Shortcake is, as well as her friends, Blueberry Muffin and Huckleberry Pie. smurfs.. hehe how about HR Puff in stuff... I was a member of his fan club..

You! carried a Muppets lunch box to school and it was metal, not plastic. With the thermos inside some were glass inside and broke the first time you dropped them.

YOU had Star Wars action figures, too! Stood in line for hours for the first showing of Star Wars at the theater

It was a big event in your household each year when the "Wizard of Oz" would come on TV. Your mom would break out the popcorn and sleeping bags!

You often asked your Magic-8 ball the question: "Who will I marry. Shaun Cassidy, Leif Garrett, or David Cassidy?"

I made Shrinky-Dinks and baked my records for baskets..

You drowned yourself in Love's Baby Soft - which was the first "real" perfume you ever! owned. What about Jeanne Nate.. or.. Jovan Musk for men..

You glopped your lips in Strawberry Roll-on lip-gloss till it almost dripped off.

Love isn't love unless it is expressed;

caring isn't caring unless the other person knows;

sharing isn't sharing unless the other person is included

OMG, Cerise it was sooooooooooo all about BO!!!! Worked out well, though, because when my cousin and I watched it at her house together, she liked Luke..so we didn't have to argue about who 'got' who!!

I was born in 72, and can recall most all of those,too. WOWZERs...had forgotten a LOT of that...loved the post..thanks! :) M.

ETA: probably right, Jackie! I remember it was always fun when buying school supplies to decide which lunch box you were going to have that year...the lunch box and the supply box were always 'big' decisions! ...oh, and the bookbag of course!

You completely wore out your Grease soundtrack record album.

You used to tape record songs off the radio by holding your portable tape player up to the speaker.

These are the ones I can relate to since being brazilian not all those fads existed in my country. There are MANY brazilian fads that I'm not very proud of, though. :P The brazilian girls will know what I mean by balonê skirt, Xuxa's accessories, and hair cut Xitãozinho style, which I'm afraid to say I got and in one month my hair changed texture and went from straight to very curly so instead of Xitãozinho I got myself a super afro hair cut.

Subject: IF YOU WERE A LITTLE GIRL IN THE 70'S......or early 80's

You learned to skate with actual skates (not roller blades) that had metal wheels.

Yeah! And we used to tear up the lino' in the hallway, scuff the floors in the local community centre and were generally not too popular at all.

You owned "Klick-Klacks" and smacked yourself in the face more than once (or constantly had bruises on your arms!)

I think in the UK these were called "K-nockers!" I had a set, as did my brother. My knuckles were black and blue. His head was a matching colour after he continually bragged about how good he was at it!

You had either a "bowl cut" or "pixie", not to mention the "Dorothy Hamill". People sometimes thought you were a boy.

My sister gave me a "Rod Stewart" cut! I had to go to the salon and have it "fixed". Thank God the Mia Farrow, Pixie Cut, was in!

You wore a poncho, gauchos, and knickers.

My mother crochet'd me a poncho - it was dumped at the end of the driveway each morning! Never wore gaucho's, but I still where "knickers"!!!

You begged Santa for the electronic game, Simon.

I picked one of these up when I was in my 30's at a car-boot sale. What an irritating thing that was!

You had a pair of Doctor Scholl's sand! als ( the ones with hard sole & the buckle).

Sure did - and had the blisters on the top of my feet too!

Your hairstyle was described as having "wings" or "feathers" and you kept it "pretty" with the comb you kept in your back pocket. When you walked, the "wings" flapped up and down, looked like you were gonna "take off"

Had the feather-cut, but NEVER combed it! My sister pleaded with me, when I was her bridesmaid, to pleeeeeze comb it, just for that one day! I don't think so! lol

You often asked your Magic-8 ball the question: "Who will I marry. Shaun Cassidy, Leif Garrett, or David Cassidy?"

Didn't have the Magic-8 Ball - still have no idea what that is. But............David Cassidy.............OMG! I had photo's of him all over my bedroom wall!! lol

You glopped your lips in Strawberry Roll-on lip-gloss till it almost dripped off.

Nope! Can't say I did!

But I did continually lose the platforms off my shoes, running for the bus!!! lol

Oh yes, those were the days!

Our journey started in 2001 and it's still not over. It's been a rollercoaster ride all the way! Let me off - I wanna be sick!

That's awesome. I was  through almost every one! I :luv: Donnie & Marie SO much back then! I'm a little bit country. I'm a little bit rock and roll.

I was very disappointed in Marie's recent plastic surgery.

Well, we had the "Dorothy Hamill haircut" here. Nothing to be proud of either!!

Did anyone else have "Get in shape girl"? I loved that - it came with the pink hand weights and leg warmers! I still remember the song too!

Hahahaha!

Check this out!

Oh, and Youtube also has lots of clips from Kids Incorporated. I loved that show! I just found out that my favorite kid on that show was Fergie! :o
