When to upgrade i-130 petition from F2A to IR-1??

Hi.

I upgrade my petition from F2A to Ir 1 and NVC scan my upgrade letter on August 11, 2014, and i called many times to NVC and they told me to wait for 60 days to upgrade my visa category from F2A to IR 1. so i have another 1 more day to complete 60 days............ Also i want to know for further process will it take 60 days for each and every document.

MY PD is October 29, 2013.

Can anyone tell me the meaning of scan date? Also meaning under review?

As far as I know, Once your case is upgraded, nvc process will start. After they receive all the documents i.e both AOS & IV package, they will count 60 days from the last scan date i.e. last package scanned in their system. So it could take around 3-5 months at nvc for case complete after ur process starts..

and once your case is upgraded to IR1, your PD will not matter at nvc

Thanks for the reply, NVC not yet sent me a case number to investigate they said after upgrade the visa category from f2a to IR 1 it will take 60 days and now the 60 days passed for October 11, 2014. And after upgrading my visa category they will issue me case number.

Mine was upgraded less 60 days. We had already sent our docs in one package last october 14 (scanned date) waiting atleast 60 days to review. I wish we dont get checklist. Just keep on praying. You will get your case number soon! Goodluck to everyone. ?

Congrats on getting case upgraded and please spend time wisely as the new timing to review take ridiculously longer than before.

Please i want to know what documents we have to send at NVC. The last mail we got from NVC was when the petition was received by NVC in Feb. My husband has applied for his citizenship, he is set to do his biometrics this week, so far it looks good. My PD is 24th Sept,2013. If DOS continues advancing VB by 3weeks to 5weeks, my priority date might be current by MAY/JUNE 2015. Am hoping my hubby rounds up his interview early 2015 so that our case can be upgraded. My question is what documents are required by NVC, how do we avoid getting a checklist, are there originals we need to send e.g our wedding certificate. So that i can send him what i have before NVC requests for it. I think NVC would enable late 2013 fliers to continue with the visa process soonest as VB advances. I am hoping i can at least continue with the process upto case completion before hubby gets his citizenship. Thank You.

Write a letter stating your new citizenship status and include a copy of your naturalization certificate and your case number to NVC.

To avoid checklist , you will have to send everything required and fill out forms correctly ( check it plenty of time before sending to them ).

In my case , all the docs i sent to them were all genuine. ( I copied all my docs and got local authority approve it hence it's genuine )

Got the email from NVC today that our petition has been upgraded to IR-1. I sent a copy of my naturalization certificate by UPS, NVC said they had the package and to wait 30 days for them to process. At the end of 30 days, they told me that they don't have any packages from me -- say what! I contacted my congressman and his office submitted the paperwork on my behalf. The NVC reps also told me that I didn't need to mail in the certificate, they would have accepted an email with a scanned copy. Now we wait for the interview to be scheduled.
