Either she or you need to contact the Embassy and ask to have the interview rescheduled. Either that or have her go to the interview and explain the situation. Whatever you do, do not just not show up for the interview. Either have a confirmation noticed from the DR Embassy that they rescheduled your interview or go to the original date so another interview can be arranged.

Good luck,

Dave

Losing your job does not equal visa denial. If you do not have the money to buy the plane ticket or pay for the rest of the visa, then that's different.

If you have the money to fly there for the interview, pay the remaining cost of the visa, then I would highly recommend that you go and get this done.

After the visa is approval and the Dominican resident receives their visa, then you can use it 6 months after being approved or 6 months after the medical exam was done. Just look at the expiration date on the Visa to get the exact date.

You still have time to fix your financial situation before starting a new life together.

In the meantime, try to find a new job, so you can support your partner once they decide to live in the U.S..

K1 Visa Process -> 12/09-06/10 Married -> 09/10/10 AOS Process -> 09/10-12/10 Removal of Conditions-> 09/12-07/13

U.S. Naturalization -> 7/8/20

Borrow the money and make that cita, is my advice. Mr. Tee the day of the interview for K1 do they ask for employment letter or is that something that you send in prior to cita? Por no ir a essa cita juralo te ponen a esperar 1 anos mas.

I totally agree with MrTee12. Don't allow this to set you guys back. Many times they don't ask for the employment letter or anything (it's not every case but for me they didn't request anything involving my income). My fiance was worried because I didn't have 3 yrs taxes and i asked a coworker who I've only known for 1 and half to please do the affidavit for me. I would guess by this time you should have the ticket purchased to go if not it's tax season, make a sacrifice and go.

Listen as long as you guys go with all the confidence in the world and are totally honest you shouldn't be too worried.

They may or may not ask you for it. It's considered a supporting document that will prove that your I-134 is valid. However, it is rarely asked for.
