Hello guys


I wanna ask Actually i am waiting for my interview letter i don't know how long it gonna take ---- here's my time line gives a summary of whole case


Sent Documents : Dec 18 2013


Notification Received on Jan 1st 2013


BioMatrics App was on Jan 21st


I 485 application: On jan 29th 2013 Online status changed initial review to Testing and Interview


After this last update didn't receive any updates ,email from USCIS


All my application freeze on Initial review no changes no updates since first day i was applied



Just want to know some questions


How long it will take for the letter ?Any idea


My case going in the right way ?


Any Suggestions , advice would be appreciated

you are filing an adJustment of status, being a holder of a student visa, married to a USCitizen?

yes? no?

if no, please explain more about filing that I-485.

You are in the wrong forum, To check if you're within current normal processing times, read up on the december 2013 filers thread.


They have been reporting their progress there. Compare your dates to theirs.

You can also look at my timeline in my signature (I adjusted from F-1 visa too) But mine is over 3 years ago so may not be as good as comparing to others who applied the same time as you.


Might as well join their thread while you're at it!



Edited to add: my online application status was at initial review the whole time too. That is not a good indicator of where your case is.


Call them or schedule an infopass if you're worried.

March 26, 2009: We become a couple!
September 10, 2009: Arrived for first meeting in-person!
June 17, 2010: Arrived for second in-person meeting and start of travel together to other areas of China!
June 21, 2010: Engaged!!!
September 1, 2010: Switched course from K1 to CR-1
December 8, 2010: Wedding date set; it will be on February 18, 2011!
February 9, 2011: Depart for China
February 11, 2011: Registered for marriage in Wuhan, officially married!!!
February 18, 2011: Wedding ceremony in Shiyan!!!
April 22, 2011: Mailed I-130 to Chicago
April 28, 2011: Received NOA1 via text/email, file routed to CSC (priority date April 25th)
April 29, 2011: Updated
May 3, 2011: Received NOA1 hardcopy in mail
July 26, 2011: Received NOA2 via text/email!!!
July 30, 2011: Received NOA2 hardcopy in mail
August 8, 2011: NVC received file

December 21, 2023:  Production of new Green Card ordered - will be seeing USCIS again every 10 years for renewal

ah - adjusting from a student visa. Got it ! If you submitted the I-765, the EAD application, you should have received a receipt notice about it. Usually the EAD arrives before the interview letter for the green card.

the website you are quoting status on/from is sorta braindead - if you need real answers you'll need to talk with an ISO at the USCIS call-center, and getting one is a bit of a slog.

Still, is good to check in with an ISO , just in case there are problems and the USCIS status page doesn't tell you.

You not mention the I-130. Did you file it with the I-485, or no ?
