Do you have an option to transfer service centers?

How do they decide when and who to transfer?

I ask because it seems that California Service Center is entirely up to date with processing their K-1 visas. It says they've processed most of January petitions, whereas TSC is still not even into December really.

One would think that with this unbalance between the two that they would send some from TSC to CSC.

Good luck on your visa journey.

The only 2 service centers processing I-129F petitions used to be the CSC and the VSC. The VSC got extremely backlogged and eventually they began processing I-129F petitions at the TSC. The petitions that were at the VSC were transferred to the TSC for processing, and they were finally getting processed within the 5 month processing time for the service centers. They ended up sending all petitions that would have gone to the VSC directly to the TSC instead, starting last July. Now the CSC and the TSC are the only 2 service centers processing I-129F petitions. You do not choose to transfer your own petition. If they are working on cases from Dec., then they are still well within the 5 months.

You just filed less than a month ago. Petition approvals are not instantaneous. They take a few months to come about. You will be much more relaxed and less stressed if you never expect anything to be super fast throughout your entire immigration process.
