I respect the advert on the telly which says 'When is a bottle of diet pills worth $150? When you're significantly overweight'

I mean, at least they're puttin it out there instead of this 'ooooh lose 50 cals for a buck fitty'

I can't help laughing whenever I see that advertisement! I mean, if you are at the stage where you feel it's worth investing $150 on a bottle of diet pills, you may as well just cut-to-the-chase and pay for the bypass surgery! It will save you money in the long term!

Our journey started in 2001 and it's still not over. It's been a rollercoaster ride all the way! Let me off - I wanna be sick!

I can't help looking up these products and usually find they are simply caffeine derivatives. Personally, I would rather spend $150 at the Daily Grind!

I just find it weird that all you guys go around smelling your urine!

I guess you haven't eaten a lot of asparagus at one time. You can't miss it!

Not everyone's urine smells different from asparagus, and in addition, not everyone can smell it. (Something like 90% of people's urine changes smell, and 70-80% of people can smell the change.)

ETA: This link says that the change in smell is genetic (about half of Brits but 100% of French people experienced it) and that about 10% of Israelis in another study couldn't smell the difference. http://www.webmd.com/content/article/43/1671_51089

Yeah, right. Sounds like that rumor that celery is negative calories since it takes energy to chew and digest it. I'll stick to water, thank you.

Actually, this is true...plain celery does take more calories to digest than it contains. Also, celery contains enzymes that kill bad breath.

Wow, you're right!

Now, where's my Enviga?

I had an allergy test done when I was younger and it turned up that I was allergic to celery  the doctor said I shouldn't eat it more then once a week..... I eat celery once in awhile but I have never noticed any reaction to it....

You also burn 5 calories for drinking a glass of ice water. Your body burns 5 calories just bringing the ice cold water up to your body temperature.

Let's see:

  • ice-cold water generally means about t deg. C (and median body temp is 37 deg. C)
  • for one litre of water (1 for all-and-practical), that means it takes 32 calories to do raise to body temp
  • for 250 mL, the number is 8 calories

So, I have to conclude that your "glass" is 156 mL (or if you actually meant 0 deg. C for ice-water temp, this reduces to 135 mL)

Ok, so it's a shot glass, rather.
