RFE after several months, still waiting for Green Card

Hello everyone,

I just wanted to be shared some thoughts or hindsight if you've been through what you're about to read

I entered the US last year, April 5th. A few weeks later my father (American Citizen) filed the I-130, the I-485 and the Work Permit Form (sorry, I forgot the number/form)

I had my biometrics taken around the last week of May. In July I received my work permit (My work permit doesn't say Advanced Parole).. In August I received a letter from USCIS, saying that due to work overload and topics not related to my case, my case was being delayed and that I was a potential waiver for the interview, but if they needed to contact me they would do so. The letter said it would take approximtely 6 months this whole thing.

On February(last month) my father received a letter saying the I-130 was accepted. I received a letter, where I need to go to my local office (Hialeah FL) for a RFE because one of the papers in the I-485 application was filed out incorrectly. If i'm correct it was PART 3. SECTION C. where they ask to fill in the charts any of my participation in US clubs or associations (I have none, I'm 18). -The problem with the page was that the word "N/A" as in (non applicable) was written all along the chart of Section C. (Where the word "None" shouldve been written instead of that).

So I scheduled an Info Pass with the office for March 14 (next Friday as they stated that I needed to go on any Friday before April 18 and no appointment was available for this previous Friday). The Info Pass tells me to bring 2 passport photos and all the papers.

Now that I've explained myself, how long do they take to re-accept and process the file again? My father says that the office should file my green card right there. (Which I believe is really naive for him to think, even in the most optimist of cases). But I know it's gonna take some time. I just hope it doesn't takes too much. I've been through so much and I haven't been able to start a career because of this and I need to go back to my country for personal reasons, and I can't leave without my green card.

No one can tell you with any certainty how long it will take. You can't continue the process at your local office.
