Sorry, this must be a much asked question but a search for 'address change' only brought up pages of threads on a student being shot and being forced to marry???? I had a quick look on the guides but did not find anything either.

Can someone please tell me what you are meant to do about AOS, AP and EAD applications when you move. Is moving state (from NC to DC) likely to affect the processing? I suspect not of AOS as that has been transferred to California but I would really like my AP some time soon.

Thanks for your help

Maggie

You will need to file forms AR-11 for the Ailen and form I-865 for the USC sponsor... you also need to call the 0800 number and you need to write a letter to your old USCIS local office and your new USCIS local office telling them you are moving.... make sure you have your Last Name on your mailbox and let your mailperson know you are living in the house and are expecting mail from USCIS....

if you do all that then you might get the mail or it might still be sent to the old address... will it slow down your application ..... who knows.. yes it might but on the other hand the new office might be quicker than the old.... I would also write a letter to CSC advising them of your change of address...

Remember you need to update your address on the AR-11 within 10 days of moving and for the I-865 it has to be within 30 days...

Good Luck

I agree.I just did a change of address by filling out the AR-11.I though my husband had to do it too but they say because he is an American citizen he doe snot have to dot he change of address. But I am not sure what your case will be seeign that you have a case in process.
