This is known, but as of yet, there is no explanation of why she and the children moved out the day before the plane disappeared.

And in a new twist, it emerged that the pilot's wife and three children moved out of the family's home the day before the plane's disappearance.

New information about this hijacking have moved to an unusually quiet level. I think it's very unlikely that it's location is unknown. In fact, I believe that it's location has been known all along, which may be the reason it took more than 7-hours for Malaysia to report the plane missing. The timing of that report, coupled with the actual flight time released to the press correlate too closely. For that reason, the governments involved in this operation are likely engaging in coordinating a multi-national force to get to the plane's location and launch an attack/rescue. The covert ops required to pull this off are a huge logistical challenge, due to language difficulty and secret debates about tactics. Who would lead such a force? It cannot be a US only operation, especially if the plane landed in Iran. The window of opportunity is open now, but beginning to close. All military options will be on the table when it comes to this aircraft, as the country wherever it landed must be fully aware of the landing, but believe they have actually pulled off the greatest mysteries of the century.

I think it's very unlikely that the world's military tracking capabilities, especially those of the US and China have not learned the location of the plane. At this point it's far more likely that the location is known, and secret next step planning has been underway for some days.

The disappearance of Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 has exposed wide gaps in how the world's airlines — and their regulators — operate. But experts warn this isn't likely to be one of those defining moments that lead to fundamental changes.
For financial and technological reasons, and because of issues tied to national sovereignty, the status quo is expected to prevail in the way passports are checked, aircraft are tracked at sea and searches are coordinated.
In an age of constant connectedness, it's almost inconceivable to lose a 63.7-metre-long airplane for more than a week, or be in the dark about what happened onboard around the time it went missing.
