Now eight days into the mysterious disappearance of MH 370, the dots are becoming more and more clear, with the line pointing to terrorism and piracy running parallel. If the reports of the aircraft climbing to over 45,000 feet are true, then the passengers may have become incapacitated; especially if whoever was flying the plane was deliberately trying to kill them. Since there is no clear area of debris, then these guys may have just pulled off the hijacking of the century.

It must be so very difficult for all the families involved.

Some relatives interrupted their own questions halfway through, bursting out sobbing, while others stayed silent, occasionally staring at the mobile phones frantically seeking news updates. Many simply sat head bowed, linking arms with a nearby relative.
A flustered man whose 57-year-old mother had been on board the flight said all the relatives were “impatient” with the lack of information.
“I am sitting in front of the television and using my mobile phone to search for the latest news on the Internet,” he said.
Yet a man surnamed Gao found hope despite the enormous stretch of sea to be searched.
“We are racing against time, if the search area is increased soon, then our family members’ chances of survival will rise,” he said, clasping his hands together as he spoke passionately.
“We are asking more nations to get involved in the rescue of this unparallelled catastrophe.”

Missing Malaysia Airlines jet: Investigation paying 'special attention' to Chinese Uighur passenger

Police investigating the backgrounds of all 239 people aboard the missing Malaysia Airlines flight are paying “special attention” to a 35 year-old Chinese Uighur man who undertook flight simulation training, according to a report in a leading Malay language newspaper in Kuala Lumpur.

The Uighurs Muslim ethnic minority group from the north-western Chinese province of Xinjiang have been battling for independence since they were brought under Chinese control in 1949, claiming they are oppressed by China’s authoritarian government and face religious restrictions and widespread discrimination.

Earlier this month the Uighurs, who make up 45 percent of the population of Xinjiang, were blamed for a violent attack at a Chinese train station.

At least 100 people have been killed in the past year in violent clashes between Uighurs and Chinese security forces.

The Harian Metro newspaper quoted an unnamed source as saying the man is not a suspect over the plane’s disappearance but that investigators were delving into his background.

According to the source the man has a PHD from a university in Britain was recently worked as a lecturer at a university in Turkey.

The source said he undertook flight simulation training in Sweden in around 2006.

Malaysian officials have not confirmed the information.

No group has claimed responsibility for the plane’s disappearance.

Police are checking the psychological and personal backgrounds of the 227 passengers and 12 crew, including chief pilot Zaharie Ahmad Shah whose house has been raided by police.

Police questioned his family about his behaviour over the days before the plane’s disappearance, the same as they plan to do for all who were on board.

Mr Zharie is a veteran pilot with 18,000 flying hours.

Police say they are investigating the possibilities of hijacking or sabotage.

This is interesting as he could be a part of this. Most of the "pilot professionals" are saying that whoever is flying this plane has a high level of skill and is way above average.

Am I too harsh? 8 days to identify transponders were turned off.....?! Really?

In looking at the discussion forum of aviation professionals, one theory is that the hijacker may have been looking to "piggyback" on the tail of another airliner. This may explain the zig-zag pattern after the transponder was turned OFF.

The Malays are getting pounded from all sides in the international press. They just don't have the infrastructure and staff to send out to cover PR, and are not used to being held accountable for what they say. It's entirely possible there has been a lot more going on in secret since the beginning that they don't want in the media.

A very expensive cover up (if it is 1).

They handled the press poorly, but you may want to consider that it was known from early on that this was a hijacking and shared it with only senior levels of US, UK, and nations with the skill and infrastructure to get to the bottom of it. They surely would not want to alert the hijackers that they were on their trail.

....the lives of 239 is a good incentive.
