Basically this thread is full of people who know better than the actual people investigating this.

Of course ! We do show up on the weekends, and tend to be asian-y.

Not Indian-Asian-y, the other one. ;)

Still, thanks for playing - yer participation is noted and I'm glad to see you here, sans underbritches.

Have a look at the runway on Pulau We, Sabang. It's over one mile long.

Hmmmm - now I'm leaning towards 'Plane forced down by militants just inside the straights o Malacca'. Now to find the landing strip...

The straights cover a 400 km distance, so it's possible, and the Pirates there will hide anything for a price.

Has any1 mentioned that 20 of the top executives for chip maker Freescale were on the flight...the company stock price has dropped about a dollar since the plane went missing...

(Where's OriZ on this..? I expect something very interesting from him.... An original POV.)

OK - I can fully see The Malay Pirates keeping those 20 folksen in aircon warehouses, forcing them to make 2 mil-chip runs on the stolen fabs they have.

They were hardly top executives.

It was tongue in cheek...

Here's who was on it.....

"The employees, among 239 people on the plane, included engineers and manufacturing staff, many of whom travel regularly between company facilities in Tianjin, China, and Kuala Lumpur, a company source said.

None of Austin, Texas-based Freescale's most senior executives were on board Boeing Co's 777-200ER, which vanished from radar screens about an hour after it took off from Kuala Lumpur for Beijing."

But Reuters also wrote this...

"The 20 Freescale employees, among 239 people on flight MH370, were mostly engineers and other experts working to make the company's chip facilities in Tianjin, China, and Kuala Lumpur more efficient, said Mitch Haws, vice president, global communications and investor relations.

"These were people with a lot of experience and technical background and they were very important people," Haws said. "It's definitely a loss for the company."

Long enough to get a B777 down safely. It's still very short for a take-off with any load on board.

Most likely there is little concern about it's ability to take off....by the people involved.

To be sure, that would be a Hotel California landing operation....

One of the flip sides of restricting smoking on board: fissures and cracks in the skin of the plane are much harder to find....

This just in. A gate guard snapped this photo of a vehicle the passed through the Malaysian airport the same day as MH 370. There is no record of them departing.
