We picked up the Visa in Santiago and it took exactly 7 days. We had been told it would be faster from Santo Domingo because all the visas go there then they wait until they have a decent amount before they will transport them to Santiago but it didn't seem to be the case for us because his we called Santo Domingo every day and his visa never went there, it went straight to Santiago.

My interview was on the 25th and I'm still waiting ..... I just wanna go home already. When we went to pay at domex we asked the cashier what was faster she said it didn't matter it would take the same time about a week I guess that because of the holiday it would take a little longer its been 8 business days already -____-

**The Medical Exam (Consultorios De Visa)

http://www.consultoriosdevisa.com

The beneficiary’s medical exam will be completed by Consultorios De Visa in Santo Domingo (a few miles from the Consulate). The Medical exam must be done at least 5 business days before your scheduled interview. A good time to go is between 14-10 days before your interview. Do not go before 30 days since they have turned people away in the past. You will need to take with you the following: Dominican passport, your Cedula (national ID), 3 passport pictures, and your Medical Appointment letter. My fiancée was there ALL DAY (7am-5pm). It’s crowded and very busy. Make sure you bring the exact amount in US dollars (prices vary by age/gender) so you avoid any problems. Although vaccinations are optional for K1 visa holders; it’s strongly recommended that you get your vaccinations too. For more information, check the links below. Your medical results will be delivered to the Consulate in time for the interview.

FYI: Only the beneficiary is allowed to go inside the Medical facility. The wait could be several hours, so plan accordingly if you are bringing someone along with you. Also You can pay RD pesos or US dollars. However, they will give you the "current rate" of exchange for pesos. In my opinion, U.S. cash is the better option.

I think that is what we will do too, pick it up at the DomEx office in Santiago. Hopefully we get ours as quickly as yours! :) I would even be willing to drive to Santo Domingo to pick it up if that means we would get it faster.
