Looking for advice - K-1 or K-3 the best course?

I am new to this site and have been reading all the information I can find about visas and I am a bit overwhelmed. I am in an LDR and recently engaged (March 1) and I trying to determine the best course for my fiancee to come here to live.

My basic question is that is it a better course to apply for K-1 and then get married within the US once it is approved, or get married in her country (Philippines) and then go the K-3 route? In terms of timing, we are currently planning on getting married in July 2014 in her country. Which is the best course to take?

K-1 Visa

09/03/2014 AOS packet (I-485, I-765, I-131) delivered to Chicago lockbox

09/08/2014 NOA1 received for AOS, EAD, AP

10/01/2014 Biometrics

11/04/2014 I-485: Status changed to Testing and Interview

11/12/2014 EAD & AP Approved, combo card in production

11/22/2014 EAD/AP Combo card received

02/04/2015 AOS Interview - approved! Card in production

02/12/2015 Card received!

LPR's can not petition. You would have to marry and file a I-130 to get a CR1.

Forget K3 and you are looking at a 12 to 16 month wait from start to finish.

Beneficiary's of LPR's cannot be issued CR-1 visas. Visas for spouses of LPR's are in a numerically limited category and that category is F-2A.

July 26, 2011: Received NOA2 via text/email!!!
July 30, 2011: Received NOA2 hardcopy in mail
August 8, 2011: NVC received file
September 1, 2011: NVC case number assigned
September 2, 2011: AOS invoice received, OPTIN email for EP sent
September 7, 2011: Paid AOS bill (payment portal showed PAID on September 9, 2011)
September 8, 2011: OPTIN email accepted, GZO number assigned
September 10, 2011: Emailed AOS package
September 12, 2011: IV bill invoiced
September 13, 2011: Paid IV bill (payment portal showed PAID on September 14, 2011)
September 14, 2011: Emailed IV package
October 3, 2011: Emailed checklist response (checklist generated due to typo on Form DS-230)
October 6, 2011: Case complete at NVC
November 10, 2011: Interview - APPROVED!!!
December 7, 2011: POE - Sea-Tac Airport

January 28, 2014: Production of new Green Card ordered

February 3, 2014: New Green Card received; done with USCIS until fall of 2023*

December 18, 2023:  Filed I-90 to renew Green Card

December 21, 2023:  Production of new Green Card ordered - will be seeing USCIS again every 10 years for renewal

But I was correct about LPR no can do K1 right? Oh this stuff is crazy I tell you.

Dang Ontarkie you so astute. Ikeloa, are you a LPR or US citizen. That matters much if you are talking K1 or Cr1 routes.
