Actually I voted that he'd send her back to his country not disown her.

You're right, you did say that. Sorry for confusing.

I'd also like to hear from the 10 people who voted kill in the last question.

My husband and I had a discussion about this while I was in Egypt. Within the discussion he told me that if his sisters were to "** around" his father would have them killed without question. He agreed with this notion. My answer to the last question was that he'd put them on a plane to his home country. I'm sure his family wouldn't do anything on American soil. Now I don't know how serious he was but he seemed serious.

I used to know a group of Yemeni guys when I was younger. This story was widely known within the group. A younger kid who the group knew had a sister. This sister was having a relationship with a young black man from the neighborhood. The family owned a party store in which the sister worked occasionally. After the family found out about her indecent behavior they staged a robbery and killed her. As far as I know they got away with it. I can't say that I know this story is 100% true but I believe it could and did happen.

OK, I know this is super late in the conversation, but I'm just now starting to read this thread... I saw just 2 nites ago an episode of Law & Order based on this story - they changed it a bit, but the storyline was the same....

ok, carry on... I'm catching up.

I think the excuse that it's how these men are raised is totally bogus. I also think the idea that this is just another one of the world's crazy **things**, is totally ridiculous. This is not something we are all actually totally removed from. We might be able to say that about some other bizarre thing in the world, maybe the Russian poisonings, since I think we are all pretty much totally removed from that. But this idea of murdering women is not a nebulous idea, and is obviously not totally removed from some people's realities here.

I wish those 9 or 10 who said their husband would murder their child or sister would step up, if they feel strong enough to vote that way, they should feel strong enough to comment.

How can one claim God cares to judge a fornicator over judging a lying, conniving bully? I guess you would if you are the lying, conniving bully.

"poisoned by a jew" sounds like a Borat song

Arguing here is like banging my f'in head against the wall. No matter what I say or how I put it y'all are gonna take it the way you want it.

(F) I know how that feels all too well! You have my empathy, sis.

They're not gonna step up. Why should they? So they can get ####### slapped around here by the usual suspects? I'm the only one who has the cojones (metaphorically speaking) to say anything and see where it got me? I'm an uncaring, unloving, blindly standin by my man woman who doesn't have any concern for my children or future children.

Strong enough to vote, not strong enough to get in a pissing match on a public forum. I respect my husband and will not discuss his beliefs with strangers.

(F)

I second that. This is a subject between my husband and I no matter how he feels about it.

Yeah something I should've done. You're a smart lady.

No one should be pummeling you about this, frankly. You were honest because you felt safe among women who should understand the challenges of cross-cultural marriages such as ours. Now, those with whom you felt safe to share are turning on you with little thought as to the consequences. You deserve support, not derision, but that's not what you'll get. That is why MENA is dying, and good riddance if it does!
