Looking for some guidance/expertise here. This is our first time posting to the forums although this site has helped us tremendously thus far in our journey.

My wife is applying for AOS via a K-1 visa. We were married in March 2014 and applied for AOS in March 2014. We had processed the K-1 visa on our own with no issues. We even received the letter stating that we could possibly waive the 2nd interview and to be patient.

Everything was going great until two days ago we received the following letter in the mail and given only 30 days to comply...

"The Form I-693 that you have submitted does not meet these requirements. Please return to a designated USCIS civil surgeon and have a new medical exam completed. You must then submit the new properly completed Form I-693 Medical Examination and Immunization Document Supplement completed by a USCIS Civil Surgeon to USCIS. Note: Photocopied medical exam results are NOT acceptable. The form and accompanying supplement must be submitted in original form, signed by both the applicant and civil surgeon, and submitted in a sealed envelope from the civil surgeon."

I reviewed everything we had previously submitted and can't seem to find an issue with it. Or are they now saying she must have the full medical exam that is supposed to be waived with the k-1 visa as long as AOS is filed within 1 year of the oversees medical exam?

In our case, it was filed within that timeframe...

...so this letter is not clear as to what exactly did not "meet these requirements".

The only other thing I can think of is that the Civil Surgeon did not seal the envelope correctly when we filed.

Is there anyone out there who has seen this before and can lend a helping hand??? Many thanks

Unfortunately I still haven't heard any news on my case other than my fingerprint fee has been received over a year ago. My service request all get the same generic answer...

My husband and I have made an info pass appointment for tomorrow morning, so I am really hoping for some answers!

Congratulations to all the approvals and good luck to the people that are still waiting!!

Filed March 24th 2014, Approved May 14th 2015! Thank you all for your fantastic help and support!! Now to wait 21 months until it's time to remove the conditions ;)

Am I right in thinking that this permanent resident card counts as my work authorization now?

Also, do I need to visit the social security office for any reason, to remove any conditions from that?
