So on 5/29 my status changed to "Testing and Interview". So far nothing and also nothing on the EAD! I'm incredibly frustrated... It's been more than 3 months since I applied. I've been seeing people getting their GCs and such.. All I want is my EAD! Is that too much to ask? Ugh :(

It looks like you are already past 90 days. Though you had RFE, I still think it's been quite long. Why don't you schedule an Infopass appointment? I was in a crunch situation as well. I tried Congressman's help but not sure if that really helped. I was desperate to try whatever possible.

I got my combo EAD/AP card last week, and yesterday I received my conditional green card. It was totally unexpected, as I hadn't yet received the approval notice (that came today), and nothing had changed with case status online. I couldn't believe how fast it was approved! This would be wonderful news, except for they spelled my last name wrong. So now I have to fill out a form and return the incorrect card to USCIS, and who knows how long it will take to replace it.

Since I am a permanent resident now, then the combo card is no longer valid, right? Will I still be able to get a driver license, work, & travel outside the country with the combo card, without actual possession of the green card? Since I had only recently received the combo card, I had just started looking for work, studying for the driver license exam, and was applying to have my name changed to my married name on the social security card, but haven't gotten any of those things done yet. I'm not sure how to move forward now. Does anyone know if I will be able to get the I-551 stamp in my passport that I've heard about?

It's a universal truth that Website sucks. It's sad though how many people patiently look forward for website updates.

You've to first figure out whether the mistake was because you wrote incorrectly on the form or whether it was USCIS who read incorrectly. Once figured out, you need to file I-90 I believe. Fee will be charged if it was your mistake. In the meantime, they should be able to give you a stamp.

Congrats. Can you obtain a social security card with just the ead ?

Yes, you can. If you do get a job, your employer will need a SSN anyway. Besides, you need SSN to apply for a driver license.

How do I contact Congressman???

Go here to find your Congressman: http://www.house.gov/representatives/find/

They may have their protocol on communicating with them. I had to fax them a form that they can make inquiries on my behalf. I also included a letter explaining my situation. Form was on Congressman's website.

Done with the interview today...it was sooo easy!an 1 1/2 of wait was not bad at all..no questions ask except the all NO to all blahh blahh thing in the form..we were sworn in first and ask about any evidence of joint accounts..we were told by the USCIS Officer that she wasnt going to do serious questions especially under K-1 ...

By the way, she never ask about the I-693 form at all..thank God we never done any of that..its a waste of money here especially they charge too much..after that, we got an Approve letter from her!!! Soooo happy!!!!

Congratulations!!! We had our interview in Phoenix on the same exact day - how funny, we waited 90 min too, and had a short 5-10 min interview, where she said the same thing about not needing to ask a lot of questions due to screening at the Consulate under K-1. Didn't have to provide any further evidence and we were told approved!

Now we get a 2- year break from the paperwork, hehe!

Nope, I'm still on the hanging thread that seems like forever. Still in Acceptance mode. :( Hopefully, there's really nothing I should worry about.

Currently, I'm more concerned in getting a job in my field! That is what's taking all my attention right now, rather than the AOS. :D

The biggest lesson I have learned during my AOS process, is that I have got to be patient when it comes to dealing with USCIS. Things fall apart frequently but just got to stay calm and composed.

Good luck on your job hunt. Sometimes it can take a while depending upon your field of work. I am sure you will get one soon.
