My case has been in the testing and scheduling status for over a month now. I received my EAD. My question is that since I'm on an international students visa, after receiving my work permit, do I have to continue my international student status so that by the time the interview is scheduled I'm in status or does my work permit become my new immigration status?

I believe your EAD is your new immigration status. My husband's O-1 visa just expired today so the EAD has taken over and will be valid until we get approved (PLEASE, GOD!) for his GC.

No update on I-485 yet.

Congrats on EAD. You might want to check USPS tracking because it can come early than estimate date of delivery.

It is 2 days priority mail so USPS would delivery by Thursday or Friday if I am not wrong.

Applied Social Security Number on the 10 of March, 2014.

Married on the 13th of March, 2014.

Sent I-485, I-765, and I-131 on the 15th of March, 2014.

Received EAD on June 7, 2014.

Contacted Ombudsman on 01/12/2015.

Ombudsman contacted USCIS on 02/20/2015.

USPS tracking says est. delivery date is Sat but I am 95% sure it will come this Fri. Regardless, I still have my Infopass appointment tomorrow to get I-551 Stamp to appease my employer so that I don't get terminated.

Done with the interview today...it was sooo easy!an 1 1/2 of wait was not bad at all..no questions ask except the all NO to all blahh blahh thing in the form..we were sworn in first and ask about any evidence of joint accounts..we were told by the USCIS Officer that she wasnt going to do serious questions especially under K-1 ...

By the way, she never ask about the I-693 form at all..thank God we never done any of that..its a waste of money here especially they charge too much..after that, we got an Approve letter from her!!! Soooo happy!!!!

Got my new interview date today and also my EAD on the mail. For those who remember, I was assigned for an interview in my old address in Kansas and now I live in NC. Today they rescheduled my interview for July 17th.

The USCIS website says that Raleigh is working on cases from 12/10/2013. So, this is just a prove that processing times are not that right.

Good luck to everyone waiting on interview dates.

Call the local office number listed on the letter the gave you everyday and have the person on the ph to verify your status. Once your told you have been verified, go back to that office and get a printout of your ssn.

The person at the window most likely tell you that your not allowed to get a printout and you need to wait for the card in the mail. If that's the case ask immediately to talk to a supervisor and then you'll get the number. That's what I had to do and got my number yesterday and my driving license today. Let me know how it goes and don't let them give you bullsh*t

I went to the SSA Office yesterday and finally got a printout of my Social Security number. Fortunately for me I didn't have to talk to a supervisor, :) Thank God, I can finally start work on Monday. Thank you so much for the information, I would've waited for the SSN card to be mailed had you not told me about this. :)

Update:

We had our AOS interview yesterday. We thought we weren't approved because after the interview the officer handed as a letter saying that our case is being held for review and we'd have to wait 120 days for a decision.

When I woke up this morning, I already got an SMS notification that our case has been updated and I checked online and the status is now Card/Document Production. YEY! Thank God it's almost over. :dancing:
