I am not sure if anyone can answer my question. i am still waiting for my interview to be scheduled. However, I need to renew my passport. Can I go to interview without a passport or maybe just my State ID and old passport? Please advise. Thank you.

Thank you. My consulate from chicago is doing a mobile service in Michigan tomorrow. So I don't want to miss an opportunity to take advantage of that since we are 5 hours drive to chicago.

I just wonder if I can use alternative ID like my driver license (state issued) to use instead of the passport. I also have the older one.

My sister took an expired passport and that was fine, It is still an ID even if it is expired for travel. They might Say something but they will accept it. so if you can, try to renew it. if not then the're not going to deny your interview for an expired passport.

Hey everyone!

This is my first post.

i filed the Adjustment of Status at the end of March & just had my biometrics on May 1st.

i'm wondering if any of you have only the I-485 & I-765 black bars only on your biometrics letter.

i filed also for the advance parole but i didn't see it in my biometrics letter. I just noticed it.

so i'm wondering if they might only approve my work permit and the green card?

Thank you. I currently have 2 passports. One is NOT expired and another one is. I just want to renew it because we are going back to my home country next year.

Hello everyone, another march filer jumping on the band wagon. I married my USC husband in Nov 2013. I am adjusting from an F1. I'm posting my timeline here too..

March 03: Sent package to Chicago Lox box
March 07: Rejection notice (incorrect filing fee)
March 12: Resent Package
March 24: Got NOA1
March 30: Got bio metrics appt letter
April 30: Bio metrics complete.

Now I'm waiting with my fingers crossed.

I have a question for anyone who has some advice. I seem to have misplaced my original birth certificate. All I have at the moment are copies. Will that be a problem? What I sent to USCIS too is a copy of the copy of my birth certificate. Does that sound like potential guaranteed RFE?

No they won't send you RFE for this but when you will have AOS interview you are required to take original birth certificate with you so you should start taking steps for getting new birth certificate from India.

That's normal, mine was like that too. They must not need biometrics for the AP, so long as you have NOA1 for all 3 you're fine.
