What happens if we don't use the visa before it expires?

My fiance and I have been together for four years. In May, we got engaged and decided to file for the K-1. I flew to the embassy for the interview and we were approved. In the past week, we have had some issues, and have decided that at this point, we can't get married. I would still like to keep it open as an option. Is there any way to extend the K-1? If not, can he come over in the future if I file a new K-1, or could we get married in England and then file a K-3? Does anyone know if there are any rules against this? Please let me know if you have any ideas. I just don't want this to be it with the immigration.

if you do not use the visa before it expires then you would have to start all over again if you still wanted a K1 in the future.... they may ask at a future interview why you did not use it, but it should not count against you...

You you could get married and then file for K3...

If we got married in England, we could file a K-3 while we lived there, right? And then we could be together while it is processing? What did you mean when you said why would you do that? Why would I do the K-1 or K-3???

To do K3 the USC has to have an established home in the USA and have income in the USA... you may want to look into doing DCF but I think the USC has to have right to remain in the UK to do that....

You will find that like most people you will need to spend some time apart to get a K3 or a K1
