Can I win for least ambitious thread participant, not including spouses?

There are so many help wanted signs here that I'm thinking about getting a job. They even pay Walmart workers more than in CT and the housing is infinitely cheaper.


whadaya mean? you want a higher requirement for teaching? a masters is exactly that. A master.

most states let you teach with a bachelors degree. some states let you teach with a bachelors degree provisionally, requiring you to get a masters within a specified time....

I know a lot of colleges allow TAs to teach classes and they don't have a masters, but adjuncts in a lot of places don't need higher degrees.

But really, you guys made it harder then it had to be....

Look at Greece....no one ever files over there. And their "IRS" whatever its called, they don't have the resources to go collect :)

I dont but in Europe you gotta have PhD to teach. Usually, while you are working on PhD you do assistant Prof. jobs to get ready to teach or get a post-doc..w/e that is why i always thought I would need one.

Comrade J, this has probably been said before.. but your fella needs a shrink, imo. As well as all the other stuff mentioned in this thread.

See, before I moved I lived a life of feeling constantly like I wasn't worth a damn, that I shouldn't even exist. And that's thanks to having that drilled into my head by one single person. It goes without saying, being around a negative influence is dangerously infectious.

Now I've moved, even though I can't do as much as I'd like right now, I feel like I have some purpose on multiple levels. I'm going to do what I've always wanted to. I've wanted to teach for a long time, and now I'm taking the first steps in order to do that. I've gotten back into painting my models, and as geeky/nerdy as it is, I have people looking at them when I paint in the store and just going "Wow".

Point is.. don't let a negative influence tie you down.

before we sent in the I-129F, jonas and i were thinking that maybe he could come live in singapore for a while and i'd work while he focused on his writing. eventually we decided against it because getting a visa for him in singapore would be so much harder and left up to chance than getting the K1. but i'd have been okay with it because he wouldn't just be sitting at home slacking.

i don't need my man to be the provider (of course if he is and wants to be, that's an added perk), but i do need him to have some sort of goal, aim, dream. otherwise i would find it really hard to relate to that person.

I think that sums it up pretty well. People with no ambition or drive really irk me. I find it so difficult to kisten to people complain about their situation when they have done absolutely nothing to try to change it themselves. Major pet peeve.
