I've got a story.....

There I was in my youth as a young marine.....playing basketball one day in NC with my jarhead friends.....

A long haired fella walks up to us and asks to join us. We said sure ok....

My friend was dribbling the ball. Suddenly he stops and said to this dude " hey, are you dickey betts? "

To which the dude, with a big friendly smile said yes.

Subsequently we were all invited to the concert and backstage and after party....

I think it was Alexa the info company....

I didn't know Alexa actually crawled pages. Always thought they they were more on the cookie harvesting end.

I was down at the beach in Saint Petersburg FL on the pier one time. I was with my ex, before she was my ex, and I started conversing with two gentle men next to me. One happened to be Mickey Rooney, the other was his protection. Now Mickey Rooney was performing at the hotel next to the one we were staying at, and I had asked my wife if she wanted to go see him. Her reply was no, I don't like him. So here I am chatting with the guy, my wife was right there with me, but I'm not sure what she's paying attention to, but I guess she never even noticed him. Then later she got all pissed off at me for not telling her the guy I'm talking to is Mickey Rooney, while I'm talking to him. Guess the woman had no eyes of her own, or something. But it would have been a little weird to stop talking with someone so you could tell your wife, hey do you know who this guy is? After all we were just chatting like regular guys, not a star worship type thing. I figured when she didn't say hello it was because she really didn't like the guy, as she'd said earlier in the day.

Ok, I tried to get that stupid flight with the 35 minute layover changed by pleading that it was not possible in Mpls to make it from a large aircraft to a commuter plane in under 35 minutes (or what really is like 10 minutes because the close the gate 10 minutes before departure and you need to de-plane). Grumble, grumble, grumble. Plus, the flight from Hartford has been over an hours late several times in the past few weeks.

They won't do anything until after we miss the connecting flight and a car rental for just that day to drive the 5 hours is like $500!

Ain't no direct flights like that to the airport we are going to. Only flights are from Minneapolis or Las Vegas (for whatever odd reason).
