eh whatever. Don't want to think about it. Focusing on getting a job (geez apartments in NYC are f... expensive. best would be to get a place with roommates for sure geez - not that I have the job).

Also, it is ok I can handle Tiff hate wink.png Besides....I am non-threatening to people I bet she would not hate me tongue.png

I'd look into Queens or non-hipster Brooklyn, but watch the neighborhoods. Steve might be able to tell you more but I'm not that familiar with the current state of things.

All of Brooklyn is hipster! Especially where I am! It's super- hip......it's so hip, that Shakira is treated like a barmaid here!

J if you get the job, I'll help you look. If you're in a bind, you can be my guest for a while. I'm sure Tiff won't mind. I can probably find you a walk in for 700 or so. You'll be ok here.

Btw, Queens sucks. You gotta take the bus to the train, train to the bus, bus to the train again....it takes like 2 hours to get to manhattan.....you walk 1 block in any direction and you're in da ghetto....

From Brooklyn, it's a 20 minute train ride. The neighborhoods here are more defined (by ethnicity mostly)

I find a lot of the major cities to be defined by ethnicity. I always find it interesting that people aren't as willing to branch out and essentially segregate themselves.

People who have not had children before should not get a IUD. I agree it was the IUD that caused your issues because your body was probably rejecting it. Also everyone is individual and what works for one person, doesn't for another.

Eh, not necessarily true. I've known people who got it without having had kids and had none of the problems that I had, and also seen cases of mothers who got it and had a terrible time. I do agree that what works for one person doesn't for another, it's just something to keep in mind. :)

And I bet you that unicorn over there does the same #######.....calls his mommy ever time he gets a hangnail and #######....

And Yan, too.....calls China...."the gwai lo is picking on me"........

Actually, hubby keeps things from his mother more than he tells her anything. She's a super mooch, so if we're doing well she'll be asking for handouts, and if we're going through a financial rough patch she'll be complaining that we're lazy and not taking advantage of our opportunities. It's just easier to supply her with mundane gossip and nothing else.

I find New York to be the most integrated city I've ever been in. There are still ethnic neighborhoods, but there is a lot of mixing outside of them.

Manhattan and Queens, not defined.

But you're 99 % right. It is that way.

But Trophie beat me to the answer

In that case, maybe she should just come live by us. I think it is like 2 hours on the train and there are people who do commute to NYC from here.

What and I suppose CT is any cheaper?

Brooklyn is ideal. There IS a reason why Brooklyn has been hot on everyone's radar. It's proximity to, and ease of getting to manhattan is the main.

And she can get from CT to manhattan in an hour
