Saturday GS report, see man:

Arose at o'dark-thirty. Self + brood out of house by 8:45.

First GS just opened. Got 4 packs of pens for $1; Mrs. T-B. got a Japanese trinket.

Second GS: Mrs. T-B. cleaned up on clothes & shoes for $Many ($15).

Third GS: Mrs. T-B. got 2 clothes for $2.

Fourth GS was a long drive, purportedly part of a "community" (subdivision) sale. Was one of exactly two very worthless GSs. I wanted to strangle the advertisers.

Drove next to consignment shop, 25 miles distant from nearer location that had closed. Tried to donate 3 excellent designer long-sleeved shirts. "We're overloaded on those right now, so we're not taking them -- we're a business." Inquired about funds on account; no record of any account. "I dropped my stuff over 2 months ago and was assured that it would be priced and out on the shelves the next day." "We have stuff in the back that's been sitting there since January." (They're a business, right.) Left contact poop and was promised a call when clerkette from 2+ months ago came in. Of course, no call.

Went to rip-off Chinese buffet for lunch. Mrs. T-B. loved it. Best thing on menu was the French fries, for $30. Buffet waitress obviously jockeying for tip (at a buffet, WHY?).

Went to nearby Goodwill store; found perfect #2 suitcase for Mrs. T-B.'s Ecu trip for $13.

Drove home, amidst nonstop criticism of my driving. Mini-B. fell asleep toward end, but awoke when Mrs. T-B. tried carrying him in. Attempted nap, thwarted per above cat-ministry post. Took rejected shirts to donation shop (getting nothing but a receipt for tax purposes); gassed the Mrs. T-B.-mobile; visited 2 supermarkets. Massive headache all day, intensified by doing taxes, no nap, and time-change. Great Saturday, whee man.

I'm not sure what I'm going to use. I can't have anything mess with my milk as I'm too lazy to deal with bottles tongue.png

I will most likely do an IUD though at some point.

Mirena is progesterone only. I did do the shot for the first year after my daughter was born but it's not something I'd recommend for you because of your age. There is also Skyla which is newer but the same idea, just doesn't last as long and is less hormones.

I've heard there is an option of a copper iud that doesn't mess with your hormones. Heard of it? Care about that anymore?

para-guard is the copper one. No hormones but as Ontarkie says, it can make a period heavier. I knew a girl on it who was against hormones period so she used this after her son. Made her heavier the first time and the second time it actually made it lighter. Luck of the draw.

T-bone... it's never a bad thing for a guy to know about girl stuff IMHO. Whenever I see a battle of the sexes the girls usually win because while girls know about guy stuff, guys are clueless on girl stuff. Never understood why it's not okay for a guy to know what blush is or the difference between a pump and a kitten heel. Maybe if guys were more okay with girl stuff and women taught that to their men, like my mom did to my brother, I wouldn't need to worry about having a separate garbage for the "time of the month" or putting the damn toilet seat down.

My oldest and dearest friend is a male. We met at the age of 12 and have been friends since. When we were younger, I explained to him what a yeast infection was. He immediately shouted, 'SOUR DOUGH DISEASE!' lol! We have called it nothing else since. He told me later he was glad I had taught him all about the sour dough disease that women have to deal with.

It really is amazing how little men sometimes know about women. (and sometimes vice versa... LOL) I can't quite decide if it's because my husband is american (and from the south) and just didn't have the sex ed classes I did, or because he had a dad, a brother, and his mom was the only girl and she must have just hid everything? Or if it's just a general male thing... which it kinda seems like sometimes.

Hey I think Debs has devoted her life to saving American women from Nigerian men smile.png

A noble pursuit, that is for sure.

I'm utterly surprised at how little some women know about their own bodies, but mostly European ones surprisingly.

Maybe try mirena or paraguard iud. I wanted an iud originally but can't have them due to my odd shape. I miss birth control only because it made my periods less painful and lighter/shorter.

I got Mirena put in before I moved to Ecuador in 09 and spent the next four years battling horrifying UTIs at least twice a month. My American obgyn denied that the iud could have anything to do with it, but I got it taken out a week or two after moving home and haven't had a UTI since. Also, a quick internet search will show I was most def not the only person to experience that symptom.

Obviously this varies greatly with every woman's body, but just a heads up! I think it's either a "works wonders" or "kill me now" kind of experience, no in between.

I have a pegboard in the back shed. In the garage I have a tool cabinet. And wooden shelves for the power tools. And a gun safe. Everything is a mess. Need to buy house with double garage. That's expensive...

I've always wanted my own 1000 sq feet workshop. I hope I get it before I'm too old to actually work on something.

I hear ya, on workshops....

i put one together after moving, each time...

My fav workshop belonged to an distant step-great-uncle, who willed it all to my father. We had 'fun' dismantling it, moving it, and setting it up in my father's new space. Dad's got a 30 x 30 metal shed out in back wink.png

My easiest one was a simple 20 ft cargo container, set up for outside working with a canopy attached. I tricked it out later, with a reclaimed hot tub on the top of it.

These days, my workshop is not at the house - it's back at the main garden acreage 2 miles south. It's another variant on the cargo container set up (yes, complete with cargo container) ...

I think with the right venting system to gather up the sawdust and odious bits from welding, you could convert your basement into a nice workshop, with the limitation of what you can build limited solely by the size of the door.

I have a 20 ft container upstate for the UTVs.

In NYC, space is hard to come by.....

My garage is full. Basement not gonna be used as a workshop. Tho I gotta say, the bathroom down there is in poor shape. Consider gutting it. The Gump's didn't keep it nice.
