Steve - are you kidding me? Harbor Freight Sale plus CostCo ? with an empty SUV and no pygmy to assist in purchasing decisions?

Man - that's Just Stellar, a Man-Cave-Fap-O-Thon moment, right there...

Sorry, I meant "Then it shall be so, Comrade D of the Northern Marches".

Better? tongue.png

yes please, and thank you.

I find I get cranky recently, something about old age or dotage -

still - I have the magical question used most of this week on campus :

At what age did you shift over and find it acceptable, to replace 'You're Welcome' with 'No Problem' when someone says 'Thank You' to you ? I ask, because it really pisses off the Older People who learned different etiquette rules

Hilarity ensues, and I get some promise to shift back to using 'Yer Welcome' as the proper response.

I like 1 story houses personally. I've always been a fan of the ranch style or a one story with a basement (bungalow) but have found that split level tend to fit my needs the best... which is funny. but the one thing I have in mind is I don't want my bedroom to come off my living room. I hate that and always have, but it's popular with bungalow style houses.

Hubs works at Centennial airport which is actually in Englewood. So he doesn't want anything more than a 30 min in traffic commute.

So I redid the taxes with my mom's help. Didn't include my husband's income because he made too much to ask for some kind of credit on it and I found out I don't have to. And I'm gonna get an $1800 refund! YAY!!! I'm going to file once I get to Canada because I a) want a tax preparer to look over my stuff and make sure it's okay and b) it's cheaper to mail the taxes in from Canada than from the USA.

I saw some remake of the Mars movie (can't recall the title - what was it - 'Total Recall?') and

studied a bit on the apartment interiors,

thinking I could put together a multi-level living space for next to nothing utilising cargo containers...

I set one up last year, for testing and whatnots - there's a rumour a goat herd took it over.

I am seemingly now a fan of multi-level interiors, even I b|tch and moan about stairs because of my knee. I have been doing stairs recently, the pain is less if any, so I'm re-looking at multi-level interiors on domicile.

People do look at you funny when you say "you're welcome." I've taken to saying "You're welcome" with older people and "no worries" with younger ones. I hate "uh huh" as an answer to "thank you" the most though.

ya - i can't say , "I'm terribly sorry, your parents failed you in not teaching you the proper rules of etiquette at a young age"; or can I ? wink.png

Still, I have fun on campus - most of the young'uns there think I'm a professor based on how I talk and what I wear and the gear that I carry. It's funny and sad, but I'm happy to be a peon at the moment, no stress abounding in my daily life.

I saw a house that was a multi level that was based off of a split level. The first floor was a few steps up to the right or you could go straight down to a basement. Going up you had the living room. another 2 steps and you had the dining room and kitchen (was gorgeous) and the butlers pantry. I like it because there was a definition from living to dining area. (I'm not a fan of formal dining rooms at all.) then you went into a small hallway with a bathroom and the master bedroom (with a huge master bath.) You could turn left at this hallway and walk up a short set of stairs to two bedrooms situated over the garage.

when you went down you had a big family room and down a hallway to another bathroom, the laundry/mechanical room, and another couple bedrooms.

The house was entirely too big for me personally but I rather loved the layout. It was open but had the feeling that you still had rooms. Lots of stairs but none of them very long or awkward.

BTW the basement was a true split level in that you had windows that were above ground so only 1/2 of the basement was actually in the ground.

Oh my mother taught me to say You're welcome and I only started using "no worries" as an adult so that people stopped looking at me funny!! LOL It really gets them when I say "No worries! You're welcome." Which is normally the answer from "You don't have to go through so much trouble, thank you."

Had my interview today and... got the job, woo. Xbox Live Tech, you are looking at one :smug:

grrr... remembrances past.

'You're Quite Welcome, I was happy to help/assist'

'You're More Than Welcome, come back anytime'

'It was a Pleasure Serving you and I do appreciate your Custom'

'It was my priviledge, sir; no Thanks needed'

I dunno - non-use of these phrases seem to be a good indicator to me, of the slip into moral decay, in any society.. I do make note of it, as I've lived all over...

I think it was Mark Twain or Lazarus Long who mentioned that when polite society lost it's politeness, anarchy swiftly followed.

ah - the thing about the apartment interiors in Total Recall (The Remake)

was

there was about 1.5 to 2 feet between the levels without any stairs. It was nice, to slip down or Jump up.
