Yeah, they're his favorite. What kind of dog do you have?

And that's a good idea. We want to transition them to a mostly home-cooked diet, but it seems unrealistic as we are both pretty busy.

I gotta say the rice and chicken works really well. When the pom was really sick I made her rice and it made her way better. Just not too much since eventually I noticed it was too sticky and she was having issues opening her mouth innocent.gif

update on cookies: browned butter was success...dough made...waiting for it to rest up before shaping.

Not good, Good luck Dex! Yah vets are crazy priced in town. Monticello has a vet that is much cheaper than in town vets. My rescue group uses them. They're too far of drive on one hand, but if you've got a big bill, it can be worth it.

Bunnies don't hibernate, they are out there.

I take my dog this vet.. family-owned business, very nice vet and staff.

Was thinking of getting him in here if possible: http://newbrightonpethospital.com/. It's close to us and recommended by the rescue we got Angus from.

Dunno I guess we'll see!

We'll have to try that tonight then!

I love a guy who looks like he could be on Criminal Minds as either an agent or a killer.

"Although born in Connecticut, Dr. Brian Hansen"

But this seriously worries me.

"Dr. Hansen lives in Shoreview with his wife, Donnell, who is a board certified specialist in veterinary dentistry and oral surgery with BluePearl Veterinary Partners"

BluePearl is like a super rip off place. Really pissed I brought a rescue dog in with a cancer tumor referral, and was charged $175 just for them to give a quote! They didn't even take one look at the dog.

My dog is a Malamute, adopted from a rescue when he was 6+ years old.

I only feed my dog home-cooked food when he is not feeling well.

Otherwise he is eating dry dog food. We bought the Nature's Domain Turkey & Sweet Potatoes (grain free) dog food from Costco.

I think we are taking the Dex to the vet tonight. He's not been eating, been puking, and been having trouble pooping. I am terrified of bowel obstructions sad.png Vets are so expensive though.

Oh no! Poor little guy.

You do not want a house with knob and tube wiring. That carp is way too old and you will have problems, requiring modernizing at big $$$

Yeah, I'm aware. I thought we were in the clear because there is a new breaker box, proper generator hookup, 3 prong outlets, etc. Turns out the 3 prong outlets in the house are falsely grounded.

The problem is where we are looking every house is before 1920 and they all have knob and tube, at least all the ones we looked at did. Apparently we thought they had just left it in place and it was not live in this house. Parts of the house hopefully do not have it - i.e. the kitchen, the washing machine, and the bathroom reno.

We got to get an electrician out there to give us an estimate. Headaches abound!

Dr. Brian Hansen is recommended by my neighbor who takes his hunting dogs there for appointment.

The vet is not pushy or overbearing.. he doesn't mind my dog shedding (or snowing hair) all over him.

The prices are cheaper than the old place that we used to go.

Well if the electrical input and breaker box is up to current code, its hopefully not going to be so bad. The question is if the new box and input it to today's code. Arc suppression breakers for bedrooms, and GFI in kitchen and baths. On a plus side, if the knob and tube is in good shape, it can be used to pull modern romex through the house. Well when you want old architecture, this is the type of headaches you can expect.

Was the old place Bluepearl? rofl.gif

Doesn't mean he charges on the scale BluePearl does, but the association worries me. They quoted at least $5000 to operate on her, and never even looked at her, plus charged for the quote! We ended up going to the Monticello vet for a $350. Bluepearl appears to be a high profit generating vet, who cares about the $$$ and not so much the animals.
