We moved August 2013 to our new place. I am about 99% positive I did an online change of address, but I have no proof of that.. will I need some kind of proof before I file n400? Also, I know I told my husband to fill out and mail the I-865, but he can't remember doing it, what would happen if he didn't send that in, would that cause an issue? We moved a week after he came back from deployment and he just met our 6 month old and I started working a week after moving so that time of our lives was a blur. I am sure I did my change of address though, so I am not worried about that, I am more worried about the I-865 because I don't believe he did it

My Journey:

We met through a study-abroad program in Shanghai, China in August of 2009

We got engaged March of 2010

I received my K1 VISA in 6 months (June-December 2010)

We were married 04/02/2011
I received my conditional 2-year greencard (AOS) in 2.5 months with no interview (April-June 2011)

Our son was born 02/03/2013

I received my masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology 04/17/2013

I received my 10-year greencard (ROC) in 3 months with no interview (March-June 2013)

My husband returned from deployment 06/20/2013

My naturalization journey took 4 months (April-August 2014)

I became a US citizen on 08/01/2014

Received passport in 3 weeks (regular processing)

All I can tell you is that at no point during my process did they ask to see anything related to any kind of move, whether on my part or my sponsor's (and yes, I moved and so did my sponsor and we submitted the change of address paperwork).

It's not part of what you need to submit, it's not part of what they asked me to bring to the interview, and the IO didn't even ask me about my previous address(es) when we went over my form.

Timeline:

2005-04-14: met online

2005-09-03: met in person

2007-02-26: filed for K-1

2007-03-19: K-1 approved

2007-06-11: K-1 in hand

2007-07-03: arrived in USA

2007-07-21: got married, yay!

2007-07-28: applied for green card

2008-02-19: conditional green card in hand

2010-01-05: applied for removal of conditions

2010-06-14: 10-year green card in hand

2013-11-19: applied for US citizenship

2014-02-10: became a US citizen

2014-02-22: applied for US passport

2014-03-14: received US passport

When you did the change online, you should have received a confirmation email titled "Address Change Request Confirmation". Maybe search your email to see if you find it.

Unlike Shub, the IO did go over that part of my application and had me tell her my new address, she also looked at my ID, presumably to see if the address matched. I brought my new lease since it has both of our names and she made a copy of that to add to the file.

I don't have an online confirmation of my change of address. Do they send you a confirmation email even if you don't have a pending case?

I'm honestly not sure... they gave me an AR-11 confirmation # in the email.

Not that I'm correct, but I really haven't seen people have problems with that recently, so I would go ahead and apply without trying to resubmit the change of address. In the N-400 you'll put down your current address (along with previous ones) anyway so all the notices will be getting to you without issues.

Thanks. I'll go ahead and file next month and maybe send in my lease with the application and it will show that we have been residing there for a year now. Hopefully that will help. I'll also bring bills and my employment letter at my interview. I just looked at the ar-11 form and it says email address is optional.. maybe i did not put my email address in :/
