Hello all, my application was filed in January 30th 2013, I responded to RFE in July 2013, was informed in September 2013 that we would require an interview. I have placed 3 service requests/ e -requests and 2 infopasses to no avail. The last was quite interesting because the IO was so nice (a distraction from the real issue off course), she then preceded to tell me that scheduling interviews can take several years, her exact words, I know this is not the case as there have been applicants that filed months after me and have gotten and already attended their interview. is there any one else in the NY area still waiting for an interview date? My local office is Holtsville, all responses are welcome.

Are you still married to your USC spouse? If so, why not file for citizenship as soon as you are eligible? (You probably already are.) You can file while your ROC is pending, and that would force them to move along your ROC. Don't forget to include your NOA1 for your I-751 with your N-400 package.

thanks for responding vandaveer, yes I am eligible for n400 but along with so many people, my husband has been giving me a hard time with it. I don't know how to explain something like that, we have been together 14yrs. one would assume he would do everything to speed up the process right? I have no idea what his problem is, jealousy maybe, he is older than I by more than 10yrs.

You don't really need him for the citizenship application. You have to prove you are still married and living together (bank accounts, tax filed jointly, etc), but it's YOUR application, he is not even allowed to be at your interview.

If you sent joint lease, joint bank statement, joint credit card statement and joint taxes for all two or three years, then they should not be creating problem.

But if its not joint or does not cover whole time, then they are out of control.

You should consult an attorney, may be he can advise you better on this matter.rolleyes.gif

I do have an attorney, I know the reason for the interview, I just don't understand why its taking so long to schedule one. I have no qualms about attending an interview, we have been together 14yrs. we should know some things about each other.
