It does not depend on country. It depends on service center. TSC can take up to 8 weeks to even send your case to the NVC. CSC and VSC are faster. The petitioner can also call the USCIS and ask a tier 2 if the case has been sent yet and on what date was it sent.

You should have it by now. I was at CSC as well, and got my NOA2 8 days after you did, and i got my case number TODAY. I call the NVC DAILY, and found out that they received my case on 02/27. Something weird's going on. I'd follow NLR's suggestion, and see if you can find out from the USCIS what's going on.

It has nothing to do with the country, and everything to do with how fast the service center forwards the case to the NVC, and then case load at the NVC. Right now it is taking up to 8 weeks to get a case number. Edited by mimolicious

Your case is not the norm. Lately it has been taking upwards of 8 weeks to get a case number

thanks! yeah we called NVC several times and they kept on telling us that it can take up to 8 weeks to get a case number. But seeing other couples getting their case number in a short while makes me anxious. waiting is soooo stressfulClockWatch2.gifClockWatch2.gifClockWatch2.gif

I'm a data junkie. I went into the timelines search, and searched for everyone who had gotten an NOA2 since 2014-01-01. I then took the number of days for the case to arrive at NVC, and the number of days it took for the case to depart NVC, and averaged them together. Some observations. The LONGEST I saw, was 27 days. The average for BOTH scenarios was 5.xxxx days.

We're talking K-1 folks here. I know you IR-1, CR-1 people get ripped. It takes them forever to do ANYTHING for you.

A friend of mine filed an I-129 petition and it went through the California Service Center. Last October, his petition was approved, and it took about a month for the NVC to receive it.
