Love the pics Doodle!!! Oh and the koshary....I was laughing because my husband couldn't believe I took pics of the koshary I was eating. I love that stuff!

I'm a scrapbooker so I take pics of everything. I went to the souk with Omar's sister when she was buying food for our engagement party. I was so intrigued by their weighing system that I took a picture of the guy measuring our tomatoes. She laughed and told him I was from America!!!

I'm planning on taking soooo many pictures when I'm in Egypt. My digi cam also takes decent video, and so I'll take some of that as well.

And yes, everything from the market and people to buildings and roads and EVERYTHING!! :D

I can't wait.

I don't even mind people thinking I'm a tourist, though I don't know if my fiance will feel funny sometimes. But we did talk about it and he said I should take as many as I like, as long as it's not the prohibited buildings, etc. I don't want to get in trouble!!

Allah tries his chosen people through many hardships, but those who persevere through adversity, surrendering themselves before the will of Allah, shall be blessed with a superb reward.

-The Prophet Muhammad (SAW), as reported by Anas bin Malik

A time will come when the sky is torn apart; when the stars scatter, and the ocean drains away; and when the graves are tossed about, and laid open. At that time every man will be told what he has done, and what he has failed to do; and every woman will be told what she has done, and what she has failed to do.

-Qur'an, Al-Infitar, Surah 82:1-5

Glad to see you back posting Doodle. When are you going to start the petition?

And when do I get my therapy???

you'll get therapy when i get uncranky. lol. i'm snappin' at everyone today it's not even funny. my parents, my sister, the people i just saw at the mall.

OH...one thing I notice about myself now........................I'm not a meek little consumer who says yes to everything now! I even tried to bargain with someone selling an ipod holder in the mall today. And went to a store to get the back of the ipod engraved since some of my daughters' friends have "sticky fingers" and the guy quoted me $35.....before I left I would have said ok because he had already filled out the paperwork and took the time to open the box for us..............I said no thanks and took it back and walked away without even one nano of guilt feeling!!

I can start the petition as soon as he sends me the translation of the marriage certificate. He still hasn't gotten the certificate yet since we got married right before Eid and they were closed on vacation and then just opened back up. He's going to work on getting it this coming week insha Allah and as soon as I get that in my hot lil hands I'll file the I130. I was just gonna do that and not the K3 because it seemed to me that the timelines look like they're the same now but Jackie just advised me to do the K3 too since sometimes the I130s can get held up.

On a side note: Egypt just implemented it's new ID system where everyone now is identified by a number. We were talking about this yesterday and insha Allah things may start to move a lot quicker because of this for the peeps in Egypt. That's my dream anyways.....the reality may be different but who knows...time will tell.

Just talked to him on the phone and he is gonna meet me soon online but said he doesn't know how he can get through this. I felt bad because I had just started to have a little happy thoughts and I felt guilty that I wasn't as sad at that particular moment as he was. anyone else go through that???? when you're feeling ok and he's not? I mean I'm sure I'll be in tears again in about an hour once I see his face but I wish we were in sync about the times we were feeling devastated.

12/28/06 - got married :)

02/05/07 - I-130 NOA1

02/21/07 - I-129 NOA1

04/09/07 - I-130 and I-129F approval email sent!!!!

04/26/07 - Packet 3 received

06/16/07 - Medical Examination

06/26/07 - Packet 3 SUBMITTED FINALLY!!!!

07/07/07 - Received pkt 4

07/22/07 - interview consular never bothered to show up for work.

07/29/07 - interview.

There are going to be times when its good you are feeling strong when he is not and vice versa. It's such a difficult process and when both are feeling devastated at the same time, neither one can really keep the other focused on getting through everything. It may sound strange but I think its good to take trns falling apart :P

And I still stand by the belif that it is harder on the person who is left behind in LDRs.

Doodle,

Ok I'll wait in the therapy.

Maybe this visa process will make you a stonger person, as well as an insane one!!

I think it's easier for us sometimes because we are able to stay busier so the time goes faster. At least that is what I find in my situation. Omar does not work a full time job, nor does he commute like me, so my days are full and his are about half full. Maybe not the case for you. I actually think it's better not to be down at the same time as one of you needs to be able to raise the other up. I have a friend who is constantly down so I don't share my 'stuff' with her because instead of 'oh that's too bad, how can i help' I'd get oh yeah i"m having a tough time too. Not very helpful when you are having a bad day.
