Hi, quick question for you: I'm hearing that they have stopped Electronic Processing for Mexico and are only issuing CDJ numbers. I'm hoping this is not correct. Please confirm, were you assigned an NVC case number beginning MEP? I'm really hoping that it's still an option!

Never mind my previous post. It looks like we will be forced to mail in documents the old-fashioned way . cray5ol.gif

Side note, we have almost identical time lines. Please check in here often, it's nice to know someone processing at the same time through your same beneficiary country! And join the March NVC thread if you haven't found it yet smile.png

There is no longer EP for Mexico unless you have a MEP number but most, if not all, will get a CDJ and will not be able to email documents. The DS-261 and DS-260, however, are online forms and required by everyone.

When you get to the NVC you get new case numbers. The first three letters represent the consulate or embassy the interview will be at. For Montreal it was MTL. For Manila it's MNL. So if you get to the NVC in 2014 your number will likely start with CDJ2014XXXXXXXX

CDJ is Cuidad Juarez.

Oh, some reason I thought you had just gotten your NOA2! Sorry, you're still at USCIS, then. You have a bit of a wait ahead of you, but don't get discouraged, this will all be over eventually and you can move on with your lives! I went through this with my husband's visa process in 2012 and it was very difficult being separated from him while we made our way through the system, but I think we are stronger for it. And now I'm petitioning his four boys to come live with us, so I'm back to the beginning again with them. I received my NOA2s last week, I'm expecting another 2-4 weeks for them to receive the case files, probably another 4-6 weeks for our numbers to be assigned, then wait for them to bill me so I can mail in the ginormous supporting evidence package I'm destined to have. Right now we are praying for an interview in June, but between the NVC slowing down due to the USCIS backlog and the Mexican consulate being inundated with interview appointments, we may be cutting it close to the beginning of the school year.

There's no better place to be than than VJ for answers so we are already ahead of the game. If you haven't checked the NVC March thread ( http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/483206-nvc-filers-march-2014/ ) you should pop your head in and check out the first two posts. You have plenty of time to prepare, and you'll find links there to all kinds of juicy information about what to expect, not to mention great advice from a lot of VJ members who really know their stuff. It may help give you peace of mind to know exactly what's coming next and to know you've prepared yourself for all possible situations. It did for me!

How I wish I was already in the NVC we have been together for 4 years and well we just got the push from my parent to bring him over we have a child and we really need him here with us I am going a little obsessed with everything thing but it is because i want to be very prepared for any outcome I'm freakin out about Juarez though he is native to Mexicali which means we will have to travel through Mexico :( I just started the USCIS and I'm already thinking about Juarez but in a way the long wait is ok because by march next year we will have 2 years married making it perfect for him to get his 10 year RC (:
